Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a base station detects a UE is in a high speed train scenario. The method also instructs the UE to enter a high speed train (HST) mode when the UE is detected to be in the high speed train scenario. The method further performs beam management in accordance with the HST mode. A UE (user equipment) for wireless communication detects when the UE is in high speed train scenario. The UE also reports the high speed train scenario to a base station and then receives instructions from the base station to enter a high speed train (HST) mode. The UE performs beam management in accordance with the HST mode.

A method that may be performed by a network entity includes determining resources to monitor for a PRACH transmission sent from a user equipment (UE) as part of a random access channel (RACH) procedure, performing receive beam sweeping when receiving PRACH repetitions sent using the determined resources, using results of the receive beam sweeping to refine one or more beams and to select a refined beam of the refined one or more beams, and using the selected refined beam for at least one of receiving a subsequent message from the UE as part of the RACH procedure or sending a subsequent message to the UE as part of the RACH procedure.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus can also receive at least one of TCI information or QCL information, each of the TCI information and the QCL information indicating an SSB of the one or more SSB groups that is associated with a downlink Tx beam for downlink data or an uplink Rx beam for uplink data. Additionally, the apparatus can communicate the downlink data from or the uplink data to TRPs in a same SSB group or TRPs in different SSB groups based on at least one of the SSB grouping information, the TCI information, or the QCL information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses described herein provide a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidate hopping function that reduces collisions between PDCCH candidates, particularly between PDCCH candidates associated with reduced capability user equipment (UE). For example, the hopping function may be implemented as part of a PDCCH candidate to control channel element (CCE) function or may be applied separately from the PDCCH candidate to CCE function. The hopping function may reduce persistent collisions between PDCCH candidates by correlating the mapping behavior with a value that changes over time. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide signaling for configuration and activation/deactivation/modification of the hopping pattern. Thus, collisions between PDCCH candidates are reduced, thereby conserving computing resources and wireless communication resources. Furthermore, the reduction of collisions may improve performance of UEs with reduced PDCCH capabilities, such as reduced-capability UEs. Numerous other aspects are provided.
