    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support procedures for configured grants. Generally, the described techniques may relate to restricting a number of retransmissions used during a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process or managing potential scheduling conflicts for the HARQ process from dynamic grants and configured grants. A device (e.g., a user equipment) may initiate a timer or a counter associated with a HARQ process for indicating that transmission attempts for the HARQ process are permitted. The device may identify a transmission occasion of a configured grant in an unlicensed frequency spectrum band that is associated with the HARQ process and may determine that the timer associated with the HARQ process is active. The device may perform a transmission attempt over the transmission occasion of the configured grant based on determining that the timer is active.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a method and apparatus for receiving a medium occupation and a resource block group (RBG) size from a gNB, wherein the radio block group size is based on a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration. In one example, UEs with smaller BWP have finer granularity in RBG size in terms of PRBs, while UEs with larger BWP may have a coarser granularity in RBG size in terms of PRBs. An additional guard band may be used if the gNB reserves some channels such that not all of the BW is occupied. For example, if the gNB reserves the 20 MHz channel, it may perform better by adding additional guard band on each side of the 20 MHz bandwidth to accommodate an adjacent channel leakage-power ratio (ACLR). Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to assigning a UE an interlace with equally spaced PRBs.

    Abstract: The described techniques provide for efficiently contending for access to a shared radio frequency spectrum for communicating on multiple allocated sub-bands across multiple carriers. As described herein, a user equipment (UE) may first identify allocated sub-bands across multiple carriers in a shared radio frequency spectrum. The UE may then select a carrier and at least one of the multiple allocated sub-bands within the carrier on which to perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure of a first type, and the UE may perform the LBT procedure of the first type on the at least one sub-band. In addition, the UE may also perform LBT procedures of a second type on allocated sub-bands within carriers different from the selected carrier. Based on the results of the LBT procedures, the UE may communicate with the base station on the allocated sub-bands across the multiple carriers in the shared radio frequency spectrum.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to sharing a channel occupancy time (COT) associated with a scheduled UL transmission in a frequency spectrum shared by multiple network operating entities are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a first uplink (UL) scheduling grant. The first wireless communication device communicates, with second wireless communication device, a first UL communication signal based on the first UL scheduling grant during a first COT, the first COT based on an extended clear channel assessment (eCCA) associated with the first UL communication signal. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a downlink (DL) communication signal during the first COT based on COT sharing information associated with the first COT.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for managing sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions in shared radio frequency spectrum. Described techniques provide for increased occasions at which a SRS may be transmitted, enhance likelihood of a successful listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, or any combinations thereof. Increased occasions for SRS may be provided through multiple transmission times that are available in the event of an earlier LBT failure. Enhanced likelihood of successful LBT may be provided through one or more timing offsets that may be randomly selected from a set of available timing offsets, selection of a cyclic prefix length for a SRS based on whether the SRS transmission is within or outside of a channel occupancy time of a base station, providing an initial SRS transmission time for an initial periodic time interval, triggering of an aperiodic SRS within the channel occupancy time, or any combinations thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include determining symbol level scheduling for symbols allocated to a plurality of user equipments (UEs) within a transmission time interval (TTI); transmitting, in a control channel of the TTI, control information indicating the symbol level scheduling; and communicating, in accordance with the symbol level scheduling, the symbols within the TTI in a plurality of beamformed transmissions. Another method may include receiving, by a UE, control information in a control channel of a TTI; processing the control information to determine a subset of symbols of the TTI allocated to the UE, a symbol length or duration of the subset of the symbols allocated to the UE, and symbol level scheduling for the subset of the symbols within the TTI; and receiving the subset of the symbols based on the control information.

    Abstract: The present disclosure may support dedicated scheduling request resources in a NPUSCH format resource structure, a NPRACH, and/or an ACK/NACK transmission associated with a downlink transmission received at the UE. In addition, the present disclosure may provide various techniques to mitigate collisions between scheduling requests transmitted by a UE, uplink transmissions sent by different UEs, and/or downlink transmissions sent by a base station. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive one or more downlink transmissions from a base station. The apparatus may determine to transmit an uplink transmission to the base station. The apparatus transmit, to the base station, a scheduling request for the uplink transmission with an ACK/NACK associated with the one or more downlink transmissions using a narrowband NPUSCH format resource structure.

    Abstract: In a wireless communication system, from available data resource elements (REs) in a subframe, REs are assigned to transmissions of a reference signal, thereby resulting in a plurality of remaining data REs. Furthermore, REs from the plurality of remaining data REs are assigned for data transmission to a wireless device in groups of a predetermined number of REs such that all assigned data REs within a group are within a predetermined number of symbols of each other in time domain and within a second predetermined number of subcarriers of each other in frequency domain, thereby resulting in at least one ungrouped RE.
