Abstract: A dehumidifier assembly includes an extraction chamber coupled in flow communication with a sample air inlet, a sample air outlet, and a sample drip opening. The extraction chamber is configured to receive a sample air flow therethrough at substantially atmospheric pressure from the sample air inlet to the sample air outlet. The dehumidifier assembly also includes a conduit positioned within the extraction chamber. The conduit is coupled in flow communication with an environmental air inlet and an environmental air outlet, and is sealed with respect to the extraction chamber. The dehumidifier assembly further includes a circulator coupled to the environmental air outlet. The circulator is operable to create a negative pressure in the conduit, such that an environmental air flow is drawn through the environmental air inlet into the conduit. The conduit is configured to facilitate heat transfer from the sample air flow to the environmental air flow.

Abstract: The system and method spatially predict the condensation of water and acid from the flue gas in the condensing heat exchanger installed in fossil power plant flue gas treatment system or similar environment. By modifying the operational conditions, the heat exchanger can control rates and areas of condensations. The system and method adjust either the cooling water temperature or the flowrate ratio of flue gas to cooling water to control the condensation rates of water or acids. The system and method also estimate actual coverage areas to apply for anti-corrosive coating onto the tube or duct surfaces to resist corrosion due to acid condensation. The system and method also optimize or customize condensation rates of water and acids in boiler flue gas under operating conditions given at a power plant.

Abstract: An apparatus for contaminant reduction in a stream of compressed gas is disclosed. The apparatus includes an insert for directing the gas. The insert sits in a head portion which has an inlet leading to an inlet pathway for directing the gas towards the insert. The head portion also has an outlet leading from an outlet pathway for directing the gas from the insert towards the outlet. There is also a body portion sealed to the head portion for collecting contaminants removed from the gas. The insert includes a tubular portion connected to the head portion. Gas from the inlet pathway passes outside the tubular portion while gas going to the outlet passes inside the tubular portion. The insert has a baffle extending from the tubular portion for narrowing the gap between the insert and the body portion and has curved walls extending from the baffle causing the stream of gas to rotate thereby form a vortex.

Abstract: An inertial particle separator includes a body with an outer wall, an inlet, an outlet, an inner nozzle, a settling chamber, a serpentine channel, and a filter element. The inlet is disposed on an upstream end of the body. The outlet is disposed on a downstream end of the body. The inner nozzle is disposed radially inward from the outer wall and forms a primary flow passage. The settling chamber is disposed in the body and extends between the outer wall and the inner nozzle. The settling chamber forms a secondary flow passage and is fluidly connected to the inlet and the outlet. The serpentine channel fluidly connects fluidly connects the inlet and the settling chamber and is disposed radially between the outer wall of the body and the inner nozzle. The filter element is disposed in the settling chamber.

Abstract: A liquid mist separation device for separating liquid from a gas flow may include a nozzle plate including at least one nozzle which is open at least in part and at least one baffle plate. The device may also include at least one valve element which, together with the nozzle plate, forms at least one variable nozzle. The at least one variable nozzle may be arranged fluidically parallel to the at least one nozzle. The nozzle plate and the at least one valve element may be arranged axially displaceable relative to each other. The nozzle plate and the at least one baffle plate may be disposed at a fixed distance with respect to one another. Opposite the at least one nozzle and the at least one variable nozzle a baffle plate may be arranged, which deflects the gas flow emerging from the respective nozzle and on which liquid droplets precipitate.
