    Abstract: A rod holder system for use with a boat, specifically for use with a ski bar or other rail element on a boat. The rail can be round or square. The device could even be clamped to a rail of a wooden deck rather than on a boat. A stem is clamped to the rail using a clamp and several clamp screws. A rod holder with a sizing insert is screwed to a top end of the stem using a rod screw for connecting the holder to the stem. The sizing insert can be inserted into the holder and may be interchangeable depending on the rod to be placed within the holder, from a flag pole to a fishing pole handle to a spotlight pole.

    Abstract: Automatic jigging machines for fishing purposes each feature a stationary base, and a bending beam load cell by that supports a fishing rod in cantilevered fashion from the base and serves as a bite sensor for detecting a hooked fish, and alerting the user via an alarm function. An electric motor driven in cyclically alternating directions causes automatic jigging of the fishing line, whether through motor-driven reel operation, or through motor-driven tilting of the fishing rod about a pivot point by a screw-based drive mechanism. Where a motorized reel on a removable fishing rod is used for jigging purposes, a manual-override switch is included to enable immediate and convenient manual takeover of the reeling in process by simple grabbing of the fishing rod handle.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for a multipoint, flexible fishing rod holder that may be quickly and efficiently engaged and disengaged is disclosed. Both the rod handle and rod blank may be supported by separate flexible devices that accommodate all sizes and styles of fishing rod such that the rod may be maintained in a generally horizontal orientation. In one embodiment, the supporting apparatus can be retrofitted to existing fishing apparel. In another, the supporting apparatus is integral to the apparel at the time of manufacture. In certain aspects, the rod holder can be quickly engaged and disengaged to allow an angler use of both hands to facilitate various activities such as changing lures, adding bait, positioning bobbers, or wading with a staff.

    Abstract: A fishing rod holder alert apparatus for improved ice fishing includes a housing, a rod aperture configured to hold the handle of a fishing rod, and a pivot rod. The pivot arm moves between a side position and an alternate front position. A swing arm moves between an engaged position and an alternate released position and has a line slot configured to secure a fishing line. A plurality of magnets is coupled to the pivot arm. A ferrous strip is coupled to the swing arm and is selectively engageable with the plurality of magnets to secure the swing arm in the engaged position until pulled by the fishing line, tripping a switch sensor to activate a buzzer. A logic module and a battery are coupled to the housing. The battery is in operational communication with the switch sensor, the buzzer, and the logic module.

    Abstract: A reversible rod holder apparatus and method consists of a frame with a front, a back, a top side, a bottom side, a left side and a right side. An attachment plate is connected with the back of the frame. A support is provided where the support and the attachment plate are removably connectable and a rod sleeve is connected with the front of the frame at an angle from the left side to the right side of the frame such that a rod placed in the rod sleeve is held at that angle.

    Abstract: A fishing rod holder and retainer include a top plate that includes a main opening, and a retainer opening. A cylindrical tube extends downwardly at an angle away from the top plate. A rod retainer includes a retainer cable having a retainer clasp adjacent the retainer opening. A retainer channel is coupled to the top plate and aligned with the retainer opening and configured to extend downwardly to guide the retainer cable so that the cable extends down into the retainer channel. A biasing device is coupled to the retainer cable and configured to bias the retainer cable downwardly within the retainer channel.
