    摘要: A paperboard cup holder for use with a hot coffee cup, the cup being tapered as in the form of a cross section of a right circular cone of relatively small taper angle. Such cups are generally of paperboard or plastic and are often used in vending machines and fast food retail outlets for serving hot coffee. The holder is formed from a flat, generally arcuate unitary paperboard blank having a convex outer edge and a concave inner edge. The arcuate length of the blank is substantially the same as the mid circumference of the cup, and the ends of the blank are glued together to form an annular holder. The upper edge of the blank integrally carries a plurality of flaps which bend 180 degrees to as to lie parallel with the main portion of the blank. The inter and outer surfaces of the paperboard blank are embossed, including the flaps. When the holder is slid onto a cup, the flaps are sandwiched between the outer (hot) surface of the cup and the main portion of the holder. The flap apertures define small, closed air chambers which assist, with the paperboard of the holder, in inhibiting heat flow to the fingers of the person holding the cup. Spaces between the flaps and the surface embossing define air filled channels which further assist in inhibiting heat flow from the hot coffee to the finger tips of the user.

    摘要: A container such as a paper cup is formed from a thick paperboard blank. The blank has a predetermined thickness and has a top edge, side edges, and a bottom edge. The regions adjacent at least one, and preferably all, of the top edge and first and second side edges are compressed along the length thereof. When the regions adjacent the side edges are overlapped, a reduced thickness side seam is formed. When the compressed region adjacent the top edge is curled to form the upper lip, a lip of lesser thickness is formed than otherwise would be formed from the paperboard material.

    摘要: A foldable air insulating sleeve for insulating beverage and food containers is herein provided. More particularly, the foldable air insulating sleeve secures a cup in a manner that leaves a pocket of air surrounding the cup. This provides for improved temperature regulation and sufficient thermal insulation to assist the user in firmly grasping and handling the cup despite excess heat or condensation caused by the temperature of the cup's contents. Because the bases of most disposable cups are narrower than their respective rims, more air and thus greater insulation is found towards the bottom of cups secured by foldable air insulating sleeves. The wider base also gives such cups more stability. Printable material can also be affixed on the foldable air insulating sleeve's outer surface for advertising or other purposes. Some embodiments of the foldable air insulating sleeve include a lid to further improve thermal insulation.

    摘要: A missile decoy countermeasures radiation source that provides a controlled radiation source that emulates jet aircraft engines, wherein the radiation generating elements utilizes specific catalysts, dopings and fuel additives burned within a reticulated ceramic matrix. Further a variable speed multi-element rotating blade structure is incorporated to provide the chopping of the radiation. The reticulated ceramic burner is doped such that radiation spectral lines are highest in those bands that are of interest to anti-aircraft missile seekers. The outermost surface of the decoy body is fabricated from reticulated ceramics that are transparent to the select lines of radiant energy, is breathable and a smooth, providing an aerodynamic surface for fast moving aircraft. Further the injection of specific catalysts, dopings and fuel additives provide for real-time spectral management and the injection of oxidizers allows for high altitude operations.
