摘要： A quick release assembly for remotely actuating operative disconnection between vehicles by decoupling a hitch assembly having a telescopic and swiveling probe assembly carried in a housing assembly and mounted on the towed vehicle. In one embodiment, the release assembly includes an actuator remotely controlled from the towing vehicle that releases the components retaining the probe assembly in the housing. In another embodiment, an actuator remotely controlled from the towing vehicle decouples the entire hitch assembly from the associated vehicle. In both instances, the towing vehicle may resume movement clear of the towing vehicle. Thereafter, the probe assembly and/or the hitch assembly may be recoupled for subsequent use.

摘要： A trailer hitching apparatus comprises a trailer hitch receiver assembly, a winching device, a trailer hitch and a cable. The trailer hitch receiver assembly includes a receiver tube having a first end, a second end, an opening at the second end, and a passage extending from the opening toward the first end. The cable extends through the opening. The trailer hitch receiver assembly is mountable on a chassis of a vehicle. The winching device is mountable on at least one of the chassis of the vehicle and the trailer hitch receiver assembly. The trailer hitch includes a receiver stub configured for being engaged within the receiver tube through the opening at the second end of the receiver tube. The cable has a first end attached to a spool of the winching device and a second end attached to the receiver stub of the trailer hitch. When the cable is wound onto the spool of the winch, while the receiver stub of the trailer hitch is correspondingly pulling into the passage of the receiver tube, thereby engaging the trailer hitch within the trailer hitch receiver assembly.

There is further provided a spring member engaged between the mounting bracket and the post, so that the guide would normally be in the vertical position with the reflective surface extending a distance above the trailer visible by the driver of the vehicle, but when a boat or other material is loaded onto the trailer, the guide would move into the horizontal position against the bias of the spring and the counter weight, held in the horizontal position by the material or both placed thereupon. When the boat or material is retrieved from the trailer and the trailer is empty, the guide would automatically spring to the vertical position for viewing by the driver of the vehicle.

摘要： A device for guiding alignment in trailer hitching with a trailer cup attachment and a towing vehicle attachment. The trailer cup attachment adjustably clips over the trailer cup on the drawbar of the trailer. The trailer cup attachment has at least one vertical rod and an alignment indicator equipped with guide lights and a sound generator to indicate when the ball on the towing vehicle is in hitching position relative to the trailer cup. The towing vehicle attachment has a mounting base for removable temporary mounting on the towing vehicle. Telescoping rods are rotatably mounted in the mounting base. At the end of the telescoping rods is a fluorescent colored activating ball which is positioned directly above the tow ball on the towing vehicle. The alignment guide and activating ball are positioned to be visible to the operator of the towing vehicle through a rear view mirror, rear window, or the like. As the towing vehicle backs toward the trailer, the activating ball and alignment guide provide immediate visual feedback to the operator of the towing vehicle, so that angle and speed of the backing vehicle may be accordingly adjusted. When the activating ball touches the alignment guide, a red light comes on and a sound is generated. This tells the operator of the towing vehicle that the tow ball is in hitching position relative to the trailer cup. The operator may then leave the vehicle and complete the hitching process.
