摘要： An elongate sheet to be folded into pages is fed to a folding station where parts of the sheet at intervals along its length are successively engaged by grippers to form upwardly directed folds therein and intermediate parts of the sheet are formed into downwardly directed loops. The folded and looped sheet is then advanced by the grippers to a delivery station. During this advance, the loops are flattened to form intermediate folds by engaging a conveyor belt moving more slowly than the grippers. At the delivery station the grippers open to release the folded sheet.

摘要： A delivery mechanism for a single or double folder in which underneath each individual folder a pair of fan shafts are mounted to which fan paddles may be removably secured so that, if both folders of a double folder are in operation, one fan shaft of each pair is left without paddles and only the paddles on the other fan shafts receive the folded products from the associated folders and deposit them on separate conveyer belts, while when one folder of a double folder including the associated fan shafts is stopped and all webs are passed from the press to the other folder or when only one folder is provided, one half of the usual number of paddles of one fan is secured to each of the other pair of fan shafts but in a staggered relation to each other so that these fans will then alternately deposit the products upon one conveyer belt and then upon another adjacent conveyer belt.

摘要： A device for uniting a residue sheet pile and a main sheet pile into an aggregate sheet pile wherein a lowermost sheet of the residue sheet pile rests upon and uppermost sheet of the main sheet pile includes a displacement device having a drive; and a rake displaceable by the displacement device along a displacement path in a pile slide-in direction from a first to a second position and from the second to the first position in a direction opposite to the slide-in direction. The residue sheet pile is seated with its undermost sheet on the rake in the second position thereof, and the main sheet pile is in engagement with the rake from below with the uppermost sheet thereof, in one phase of the pile uniting process. The rake has traversed the displacement path in the direction from the second to the first position thereof, in a final phase of the pile uniting process. The rake is formed of lattice bars having respective free ends extending in the slide-in-direction, and the free bar ends have a cross-section reducing in height substantially constantly in the slide-in direction; the reduction in cross section of the free ends of the lattice bars being such that when the residue sheet pile becomes seated on the lattice bars, a lateral face of the residue sheet pile extending in the slide-in direction is simultaneously lowered onto a reduced cross section of the lattice bars.

摘要： To prevent deposition of ink, and accumulation of ink deposits on the paddles or vanes (8) of a paddle wheel distributor (2), the paddles or vanes are made of a plastic material which has a surface which rejects ink, and prevents accumulation thereon; a suitable material is polyamide, preferably reinforced with fiber or filamentary material, such as carbon fibers, the polyamide of the type polyamide 6.6 being present in about 70% with 30% carbon fibers. This permits making the vanes with a part-spherical or part-circular, or elliptical cross section to provide rounded corners and hence gentle handling of printed products (7) collected in the pockets between adjacent vanes. Braking tongues (9) located between axially staggered rings (4) of vanes can be of the same material and are so positioned that, in a plane transverse to the printed folded products, such as newspapers being inserted into the pockets between the vanes, are deformed in a gentle or slightly undulating shape.
