Abstract:
An image forming apparatus may comprise the following elements. A stacking unit in which a sheet is stacked. A conveyance unit conveys the sheet. A time-counting unit counts a conveyance time from when the conveyance unit starts to convey the sheet until the sheet arrives at a predetermined position on a conveyance path. A determination unit determines that over stacking has occurred, if the conveyance time of the sheet exceeds a first over stacking threshold value.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus include a transport unit, a tension adjusting unit, a transfer unit, a fixing unit, and a controller. The transport unit transports continuous paper. The tension adjusting unit adjusts tension of the continuous paper being transported by the transport unit. The transfer unit transfers an image to the continuous paper transported by the transport unit. The fixing unit fixes the image transferred by the transfer unit onto the continuous paper. The controller controls, in a case where the fixing unit is driven in a state in which the fixing unit is separated from the continuous paper and a difference between a transport speed of the transport unit and a fixing speed of the fixing unit has reached a predetermined range, the fixing unit to be in press-contact with the continuous paper.

Abstract:
An image formation device includes: an image formation section configured to develop, using toner, an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier based on job image information, thereby transferring a first image onto continuous paper; a hardware processor configured to determine whether or not a serial printing distance is equal to or shorter than a first threshold, wherein the serial printing distance is a distance at which the first image is printed on the continuous paper, and control the image formation section to print the first image on the continuous paper when the serial printing distance is equal to or shorter than a first threshold, and to decrease the proportion of deteriorated toner in a developer by printing the first image and a second image on the continuous paper when the serial printing distance exceeds a first threshold, wherein the second image is based on an image information.
Abstract:
A heating device includes a heating member body having a surface that is configured to contact a continuous medium; plural heat sources that are arranged in a width direction of the continuous medium and that are configured to increase a temperature of the heating member body; an electric power circuit that is configured to supply electric power to the heat sources in accordance with a width of the continuous medium; a heat transfer member that is disposed so as to face the heat sources and that extends in the width direction of the continuous medium; and an overheat prevention device that is disposed in contact with the heat transfer member and that is configured to stop supply of electric power from the electric power circuit if a temperature of the heat transfer member exceeds a predetermined temperature.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes an optical sensor disposed on a conveyance path of the recording medium. The optical sensor is configured to detect position information of the recording medium conveyed along the conveyance path. A sensor cover is disposed between the optical sensor and the recording medium whose position information is detected by the optical sensor. The sensor cover is configured to guide the recording medium. The sensor cover has a first side facing the optical sensor. The sensor cover includes an electrically conductive surface on the first side. The electrically conductive surface is electrically connected to a main body of the image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a first conveyance section disposed on an upstream side of the image formation position in a sheet conveyance direction of the long sheet, and configured to convey the long sheet to the image formation position; a second conveyance section disposed on a downstream side of the image formation position in the sheet conveyance direction, and configured to convey the long sheet on which the toner image is formed; a displacement detection section configured to detect displacement of the long sheet in a sheet width direction; and a control section configured to move the first conveyance section in the sheet width direction to orient the long sheet in the sheet width direction, and move the second conveyance section in a direction identical to a direction along which the first conveyance section is moved based on a detection result of the displacement detection section.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes a sheet conveyance unit, an image forming unit, a fixing unit and a controller. The sheet conveyance unit conveys continuous paper. The image forming unit forms an image on the continuous paper. The fixing unit fixes the image formed on the continuous paper. The controller controls an image forming operation performed by the sheet conveyance unit, the image forming unit and the fixing unit. In a case where a waste paper reduction mode is selected, the controller controls the sheet conveyance unit to stop conveying the continuous paper so that a bottom end of a last image on the continuous paper be at a second stop position on an upper-stream side of a first stop position after the bottom end of the last image passes the fixing unit when ending the image forming operation.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit for forming successive images and a pattern image with developer on a transfer member, the successive images including a first image and at least one second image subsequent to the first image; a conveying unit for conveying a medium; a transfer unit for transferring the successive images on the transfer member onto the medium; a detector for detecting the pattern image on the transfer member; a controller for causing the image forming unit to form the pattern image between the first image and the at least one second image and form the at least one second image on the transfer member based on the detection of the pattern image by the detector; and a separation unit for separating the transfer member and the medium from each other to prevent the pattern image from being transferred onto the medium.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, when a fixing device is in a non-fixing state and a transfer device is in a non-transfer state, an ejection device increases a conveying force by a pair of ejection rollers as compared to the conveying force in the fixing state. According to this image forming apparatus, a printing object can be stably conveyed even when a pair of rollers of the fixing device becomes separated from each other.
