Abstract: A device may receive information identifying results of a set of spectroscopic measurements of a training set of known samples and a validation set of known samples. The device may generate a classification model based on the information identifying the results of the set of spectroscopic measurements, wherein the classification model includes at least one class relating to a material of interest for a spectroscopic determination, and wherein the classification model includes a no-match class relating to at least one of at least one material that is not of interest or a baseline spectroscopic measurement. The device may receive information identifying a particular result of a particular spectroscopic measurement of an unknown sample. The device may determine whether the unknown sample is included in the no-match class using the classification model. The device may provide output indicating whether the unknown sample is included in the no-match class.

Abstract: A device may determine end-of-phase information for a plurality of wavelength channels of photoplethysmography (PPG) data. The device may calculate a set of baseline correction points for each wavelength channel of the plurality of wavelength channels. The set of baseline correction points may be calculated based on end-of-phase information for a wavelength channel of the plurality of wavelength channels and PPG data associated with the wavelength channel. The device may perform a baseline correction for each wavelength channel of the plurality of wavelength channels. A baseline correction may be performed for the wavelength channel based on the set of baseline correction points associated with the wavelength channel and the PPG data associated with the wavelength channel. The device may generate a baseline corrected heartbeat profile using a principal component analysis of a result of baseline correcting each wavelength channel of the plurality of wavelength channels.

Abstract: An optical sensor system may include a light source. The optical sensor system may include a concentrator component proximate to the light source and configured to concentrate light from the light source with respect to a measurement target. The optical sensor system may include a collection component that includes an array of at least two components configured to receive light reflected or transmitted from the measurement target. The optical sensor system may include may a sensor. The optical sensor system may include a filter provided between the collection component and the sensor.

Abstract: A spectroscopic assembly may include a spectrometer. The spectrometer may include an illumination source to generate a light to illuminate a sample. The spectrometer may include a sensor to obtain a spectroscopic measurement based on light, reflected by the sample, from the light illuminating the sample. The spectroscopic assembly may include a light pipe to transfer the light reflected from the sample. The light pipe may include a first opening to receive the spectrometer. The light pipe may include a second opening to receive the sample, such that the sample is enclosed by the light pipe and a base surface when the sample is received at the second opening. The light pipe may be associated with aligning the illumination source and the sensor with the sample.

Abstract: Increasing the precision of process monitoring may be improved if the sensors take the form of traveling probes riding along with the flowing materials in the manufacturing process rather than sample only when the process moves passed the sensors fixed location. The probe includes an outer housing hermetically sealed from the flowing materials, and a light source for transmitting light through a window in the housing onto the flowing materials. A spatially variable optical filter (SVF) captures light returning from the flowing materials, and separates the captured light into a spectrum of constituent wavelength signals for transmission to a detector array, which provides a power reading for each constituent wavelength signal.

Abstract: A lightpipe is coupled to a spectrometer based on a laterally variable optical filter. The lightpipe may be used for both guiding the illuminating light towards a sample and collecting light reflected or emitted by the sample upon illumination, for spectral measurements at a distance from the sample afforded by the lightpipe. The lightpipe may include a slab of homogeneous transparent material for unconstrained bidirectional propagation of light in bulk of the material. The lightpipe may be solid, hollow, or sectioned for separated guiding of the illuminating and the reflected light.
