Abstract: A transparent proxy device includes an ingress, an egress, and an application proxy. The ingress and the egress operate up to a layer four communication layer. The transparent proxy device is configured to establish spliced connections in relation to end devices. The spliced connections include layer four connections between the ingress and the application proxy and the application proxy and the egress. The transparent proxy device is configured to maintain an end-to-end connection in relation to the end devices even when the application proxy fails.

Abstract: A device can determine a congestion window (CWND) value, associated with a first transmission control protocol (TCP) state, for a TCP flow that involves one or more devices using active queue management (AQM). The first TCP state to cause the CWND value to be increased at a particular rate. The device can determine a round trip time (RTT) value, associated with the first TCP state, for the TCP flow. The device can determine that one or more TCP state conditions are satisfied. The device can classify the TCP flow into a different TCP state. The different TCP state to cause the CWND value to be maintained, decreased, or increased at a rate that is different than the particular rate. The device can transmit one or more packets, associated with the TCP flow, based on classifying the TCP flow into the different TCP state.

Abstract: A device can identify video data included in network packets. For example, the device can identify a flow of network packets, the flow including uplink packets downlink packets. The device can determine that the flow includes at least one application data unit (ADU), each ADU including an uplink packet and multiple downlink packets. The device can determine that the at least one ADU includes video data based on determining that a throughput of the at least one ADU meets a throughput threshold, a an average payload size of the downlink packets included in the at least one ADU meets a size threshold, and a count of ADUs included in the at least one ADU meets a count threshold. Based on the at least one ADU including the video data, the device can perform an action.

Abstract: A device can transmit, to a transmission control protocol (TCP) receiver, a quantity of packets based on a congestion window (CWND) value. The device can receive, from the TCP receiver, a quantity of acknowledgement (ACK) packets, that include a corresponding quantity of advertised receive window (RWND) values, based on transmitting the quantity of packets. The device can determine a maximum value for an updated CWND based on the CWND value and the corresponding quantity of RWND values. The device can provide a quantity of additional packets, to the TCP receiver, based on the maximum value for the updated CWND to cause the TCP receiver to selectively increase a size of a receive buffer.

Abstract: Methods and devices provide access to a sponsored data service (SDS) from a mobile device. A method may include generating a play media command that includes a remote media address and an SDS identifier, and converting the remote media address into a local media address. The method may further include requesting media from an internal content server via the local media address, where the internal content server resides within the mobile device. Abstract: A computing device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to identify a data connection from an application server device to a user equipment (UE) device, wherein the UE device is connected to the network via a wireless connection; determine a target sending rate for the data connection; determine a round trip time for packets associated with the data connection; and calculate a send buffer size for the data connection based on the determined target sending rate and the determined round trip time. The processor may be further configured to set a send buffer size for a socket associated with the data connection to the calculated send buffer size and control a send rate from the application server device to the UE device for the data connection using the set send buffer size for the socket.

The system can select, based on the predicted congestion level, a congestion control algorithm to be implemented for the TCP connection.
