    Abstract: A projector includes: a light source which emits light; an image forming unit which forms an image having desired size by using light emitted from the light source; and a projection unit which projects the image formed by the image forming unit on a light receiving surface. The projection unit has a light diffusing member disposed at a position where an intermediate image corresponding to light released from the image forming unit is formed to diffuse the light, and a projection system which projects the light diffused by the light diffusing member on the light receiving surface. Diffusion intensity distribution of light released from a predetermined position of the light diffusing member contains at least two prominences with the center axis of the light interposed between the prominences.

    Abstract: A battery pack has a secondary battery, first and second switch devices provided between the secondary battery and a load or a charging unit, a protection circuit detecting an overcharge, an overdischarge or an overcurrent of the secondary battery and controlling turning on and off of the first and second switch devices, a series circuit of a resistor and a thermistor disposed in the vicinity of the secondary battery and connected in parallel with the secondary battery, a comparator which compares a voltage at a connection point between the thermistor and the resistor with a reference voltage corresponding to a predetermined temperature inside the protection circuit, and a third switch device connected between the resistor and a negative electrode of the secondary battery. The protection circuit turns off the first switch device and the third switch device when an overdischarge of the secondary battery is detected.

    Abstract: An external-cavity laser light source apparatus includes a plurality of laser light emission modules, each including a first mirror, a second mirror reflecting fundamental wave light toward the first mirror, a lasing medium emitting the fundamental wave light, a wavelength converter performing wavelength conversion on incident fundamental wave light to produce first converted light and non-converted light. A third mirror reflects second converted light to produce reflected, converted light, the second converted light being wavelength-converted light produced when the non-converted light is reflected off the second mirror and incident again on the wavelength converter. The plurality of modules are disposed so that the first converted light beams exit the modules in the same direction and the reflected, converted light beams exiting the modules approach each other. A deflector may deflect the reflected, converted light beams exiting from the modules in the same exit direction as the first converted light.
