In the inventive plasma display, the environment temperature is determined, and during a charge adjustment interval, the ultimate voltage, which the drive waveform of a scan electrode voltage reaches at the end after continuously varying in the negative direction, is changed in accordance with the determined environment temperature in such a manner that if the environment temperature becomes lower, the ultimate voltage is directed in the positive direction.
