    Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing having a holding portion for gripping by a hand of a user; a manipulation block having a first side that includes at least one of: (i) one or more pressable buttons, and (ii) a stick button, and having a second side that includes a trigger button; and at least one of: (i) a thumb sensor block, located proximate to the first side of the manipulation block, and operable to detect the presence of the thumb of the hand of the user when the holding portion is gripped by the user, (ii) a first finger sensor, located on the trigger button, and operable to detect the presence of the at least one finger of the hand of the user when the holding portion is gripped by the user, and (iii) a second finger sensor, located proximate to both the second side of the manipulation block and the holding portion of the housing, and operable to detect the presence of at least one of a middle finger, a ring finger, and a pinky finger of the hand of the user when the holding portion is gripped by the user.

    Abstract: A moving-object position and orientation acquisition section acquires a position and an orientation of a moving object detected by a tracker provided in the moving object to be moved by a user. An AR region determination section determines, as an augmented reality region, a region that corresponds to a partial space occupied by the moving object in a real world and viewed from a viewpoint of the user. The moving object is configured to be moved by the user. An AR generation section generates an augmented reality image in the augmented reality region in a shot image of the real world.

    Abstract: A method of calculating the suitability of an object from a videogame for 3D printing includes: obtaining data representative of the object as found at a point in time within the video game, calculating a plurality of different scores indicative of the fitness of the object as represented by the obtained data for generating a 3D print of the object, where the plurality of different scores are respectively responsive to one or of the arrangement of the object as found at the point in time within the video game; the dependency of one or more elements of the object upon another element; a property of any connective structure used to connect elements of the 3D printed object together; the quality of the obtained data; and the method used to generate print data used for the 3D printed version of the object, calculating a combined score from the plurality of different scores for the object as found at a point in time within the video game, and associating the combined score with the data representative of the object as found at the point in time within the video game.

    Abstract: To enhance the sound quality in the case where a directional speaker is used to allow a user to hear sounds coming from various directions. An information processing apparatus includes sound data acquisition means for acquiring data indicative of one piece of audio including treble audio and bass audio, volume determination means for determining a volume of the bass audio and a volume of the treble audio on the basis of a distance from a reflection position at which a sound from a high directional speaker is reflected to a user and a distance from a low directional speaker lower in directionality than the high directional speaker to the user, and speaker control means for making the low directional speaker output the bass audio and the high directional speaker output the treble audio on the basis of the determined volumes.
