An apparatus and method for controlling a Remote User Interface Server (RUIS) in a Remote User Interface Client (RUIC), wherein the method includes rendering an RUI page for controlling RUISs, receiving an input of a control command for controlling the RUISs from a user through the RUI page, generating a multicast control message for transmitting the input control command in a form of multicast, and transmitting the multicast control message to the RUISs.
Abstract:
A remote User Interface (UI) providing apparatus and method are provided. To this end, a remote UI server generates a profile ID of a remote UI client, and the remote UI client requests and provides a UI by using the generated profile ID. The remote UI server provides generation information for UI generation to the remote UI client, and the remote UI client generates a UI suitable for the remote UI client by using the provided generation information. Thus, the amount of data processed in the remote UI client or the remote UI server and overhead between the remote UI client and the remote UI server are reduced, thereby quickly providing an apparatus-suitable UI.

A method for providing a multimedia service in a server is provided. The method includes generating a mark-up file including at least scene layout information for supporting a multimedia service based on multiple screens, and providing the mark-up file to a multimedia device supporting the multimedia service based on multiple screens. The scene layout information may include scene layout information for one multimedia device and scene layout information for multiple multimedia devices.
