    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses in a wireless communication system. A base station (BS) includes a transceiver and a processor. The processor regulates a transmit power in a direction of an earth station or a predefined receiver by: calculating a power flux density for the BS to the earth station or the predefined receiver; calculating an equivalent antenna gain for other base stations; calculating a directional power back-off level for the other base stations with respect to the earth station or the predefined receiver; generating a restricted precoding matrix indicator based on the calculated directional power back-off level; generating an N1-N2 bitmap for the BS; and applying the N1-N2 bitmap for signal transmission to at least one UE. The N1-N2 bitmap is generated based on: physical parameters of the earth station of the predefined receiver; physical parameters of the BS; an operator input metric; or restricted precoding matrix indicator.

Machine learning algorithms may be used to detect the traffic pattern in the traffic stream by using features extracted from packet information and optionally additional sensor information.     Abstract: A system and method of a base station are configured to enable a multi-shot network parameter optimization. The method includes generating one or more specified Key Performance Indicators (KPI) constraints based on a selected set of KPIs. The method also includes adjusting common beam parameters to tune a common beam based on the selected set of KPIs. The common beam is tuned to satisfy the one or more specified KPI constraints. The method also includes adjusting handover A2 and A5 parameters based on searching within a three-dimensional space defined by specified A2 and A5 thresholds. The method further includes transmitting one or more signals based on the adjusted the common beam parameters and the adjusted handover A2 and A5 parameters.

    Abstract: An indoor positioning method includes scanning for registered Wi-Fi nodes with known coordinates to generate a list of the registered Wi-Fi nodes. The method also includes performing a ranging operation by (i) selecting nodes to range with from the list of the registered Wi-Fi nodes, and (ii) processing ranging responses from the selected nodes to generate a series of distance measurements. The method further includes obtaining a series of sensor readings generated by one or more inertial measurement units (IMUs) of a device. The method also includes estimating a position of the device based on the series of distance measurements and the series of sensor readings using first and second filtering operations that are performed in parallel.

    Abstract: An apparatus in a wireless communication system is configured to perform a method for directional beam nulling of SRS-based data beams. A base station (BS) includes a transceiver and a processor. The processor is configured to transmit a data beam to at least one user equipment (UE). The processor is also configured to configure the data beam to have a null area in a direction of a satellite earth station (ES), the null area defining a space within a coverage area of the data beam in which a signal from the data beam is suppressed. The data beam is configured by: generating one or more steering vectors to the ES; obtaining a UE channel matrix via a sounding reference signal (SRS) and determining a rank value; and generating a beamforming precoder configured to directional null the data beam in the direction of the ES.

    Abstract: A system and method for user selection in distributed multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO). The system performs a method that includes configuring a first channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) resource set for a serving transmission point (TRP) and a second CSI-RS resource for a concatenated channel, wherein the concatenated channel is between a virtual panel and the apparatus, the virtual panel comprising distributed panels from a serving TRP and a helping TRP. The method also includes computing a metric as a function of one or more quantities included in one or more measurement reports, received from a user equipment (UE), for the concatenated channel and at least one of the serving TRP channel or the helping TRP channel. The method also includes configuring, based on the metric, the UE for one of: a legacy transmission or a distributed MIMO transmission.

    Abstract: A method for performing mobility load balancing includes receiving, at a server, current load data for a plurality of cells of a wireless communication network, selecting, from the plurality of cells, a target cell (s), wherein a value of the current load data for the target cell exceeds a first predefined threshold, and selecting, from a neighbor cell list corresponding to the target cell, a set of neighboring cells for the target cell. The method further includes calculating, a value of at least one utilization parameter for the target cell, determining, a CIO value and an E-tilt value for the target cell based on the value of the at least one utilization parameter for the target cell and configuring one or more physical layer parameters of the target cell based on the determined CIO and E-tilt values for the target cell.
