    Abstract: A foldable mobile terminal apparatus and control method are provided. The apparatus includes a first section, a second section coupled to the first section and movable between a folded state and an unfolded state including a plurality of partially folded states, a flexible display coupled to the first and second sections, a first sensor, and at least one processor to, while the mobile terminal apparatus is partially folded, identify one of the partially folded states of the mobile terminal apparatus, and control the display to display information corresponding to a compass direction based on magnetic related information obtained by the first sensor and according to the identified partially folded states. The electronic device can prevent distortion of the first sensor caused by the display by calibrating the geomagnetic value of the sensor based on an angle between a first surface of a first section and a third surface of the second section.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and device, the device comprising: a touch sensor disposed adjacent to the outside of a housing and including touch interfaces for a plurality of areas; an inertial sensor having a set sensor axis; a biometric sensor disposed adjacent to the inside of the housing; a communication module comprising communication circuitry; a memory which maps and stores an angle corresponding to a touch detection range of each touch interface of the touch sensor; and a processor operatively connected to the touch sensor, the inertial sensor, the biometric sensor, the communication module, and the memory. The processor is configured to: detect whether a wearable device is worn using the biometric sensor and/or the inertial sensor; receive touch information from at least one of the plurality of touch interfaces included in the touch sensor; calibrate the sensor axis of the inertial sensor based on the touch information; obtain sensing information from the inertial sensor; and calculate position information from the sensing information based on the calibrated sensor axis.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: a gyro sensor; an acceleration sensor for outputting acceleration data about motion of the electronic device; a geomagnetic sensor for outputting geomagnetic data about a magnetic field around the electronic device; and a low-power processor electrically connected to the gyro sensor, the acceleration sensor and the geomagnetic sensor. The low-power processor: operates the acceleration sensor while the gyro sensor is deactivated to determine a motion pattern of the electronic device; drives the geomagnetic sensor to acquire geomagnetic data such that, if the motion of the electronic device corresponds to a predetermined first motion pattern, the geomagnetic data is acquired at a first sample rate, and, if the motion corresponds to a predetermined second motion pattern, the geomagnetic data is acquired at a second sample rate higher than the first sample rate; and calibrates the geomagnetic sensor on the basis of the geomagnetic data.

The processor may monitor movement of the electronic device using the motion sensor when being connected to an in-vehicle electronic device of the vehicle, and may obtain first movement information of a first external electronic device from the first external electronic device within the vehicle using the communication circuit. The processor may estimate a first movement parameter of the first external electronic device generated by the specified rotation, from the first movement information when a specified rotation of the electronic device is detected using the motion sensor, and may compare the first movement parameter with a reference value to estimate a position of the first external electronic device within the vehicle.
