Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for RF channel selection in a multi-frequency network. A method includes identifying selected local operations infrastructures (LOIs) and their neighboring LOIs, generating a neighbor description message (NDM) that identifies the selected LOIs and their neighboring LOIs and associates a descrambling sequence identifier with each RF channel of the selected LOIs and their neighboring LOIs, and distributing the NDM over the selected LOIs. An apparatus includes a message decoder to receive an NDM that identifies RF channels of a first LOI and neighboring LOIs, and wherein each RF channel is associated with a descrambling sequence identifier, and processing logic to detect content acquisition failures, determine a list of RF channels and their associated LOIs that carry desired content, and select a selected RF channel that is associated with a selected LOI that carries the most additional content among the associated LOIs.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. The UE may identify that the UE is operating in a high mobility environment, that a first reference signal received power associated with a first cell is decreasing, and that a second reference signal received power associated with a second cell is increasing. The UE may transmit a request for a handover from the first cell to the second cell based on the identifying, the transmitting performed at a time that may be based on one or more network-configured handover timing parameters having one or more values adjusted by the UE. The UE may receive a handover command in response to transmitting the request for handover. The UE may perform a handover from the first cell to the second cell in response to the handover command.
Abstract:
Aspects are provided which allow a UE to apply CFO compensation to resolve mismatched RAPIDs caused by uplink Doppler shifts in HST deployments. The UE obtains one or more RARs each including a RAPID, where each of the RARs is responsive to a random access message including a preamble. The UE determines, in each of a threshold number of the one or more RARs, that the RAPID of a corresponding RAR is different than the preamble of a corresponding random access message. The UE then offsets a carrier frequency for each of one or more subsequent random access messages in response to the determination. As a result, mismatched RAPIDs due to uplink Doppler shifts may be avoided and RACH success rates may thereby be improved.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) communication having a new data indicator (NDI) value for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. The UE may start a HARQ state discard timer based at least in part on receiving the first PDCCH communication, wherein a duration of the HARQ state discard timer is based at least in part on one or more conditions. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a first energy level of a demodulation reference signal (DMRS). The UE may measure a second energy level of at least one of a tracking reference signal (TRS) or a synchronization signal block (SSB). The UE may determine, based at least in part on the first energy level and the second energy level, a DMRS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The UE may perform, based at least in part on the DMRS SNR, channel estimation for a physical channel associated with a communication to determine an estimated channel. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the estimated channel, demodulation processing for the communication. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication by user equipment (UE) identifies a coexistence issue corresponding to a set of communication resources of the UE. The UE transmits, to a base station, an indication of the coexistence issue. The UE receives, from the base station, a communication parameter for selectively scheduling a measurement gap pattern. The UE communicates in accordance with the measurement gap pattern to mitigate the coexistence issue.
Abstract:
In an aspect, a UE may determine a set of parameters associated with each of a plurality of different operation modes supported by the UE and transmit UE capability information including the set of parameters to a base station, where at least one operation mode comprises a power efficient mode. The UE may receive configuration information based on the UE capability information including an indication of an operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes. A base station may receive UE capability information including a set of parameters associated with each of a plurality of different operation modes supported by a UE and determine an operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes for the UE based on the UE capability information. The base station may transmit configuration information including an indication of the operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes.

Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for reporting Channel Quality Indicator (CQI). In certain aspects, a User Equipment (UE) may schedule switch from at least a first set of zero or more antennas used by the UE, to at least one second set of zero or more antennas, wherein the first and second sets differ by at least one antenna. The UE may determine a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) to be reported from the UE for use at a base station in a subsequent CQI subframe set, based at least on the scheduled switch. The UE may thereafter transmit the CQI to the base station.
