Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to UE type switching. In an aspect, a terminal device transmits, to a network device, capability information indicating support of a plurality of types of the terminal device. Then, the network device transmits an indication for switching a type of the terminal device to the terminal device. Moreover, the terminal device performs type switching based on the indication and a requirement for an interruption caused by the type switching. In this way, it is allowed to avoid transmission failure due to the interruption caused by type switching, and thus improve resource utilization and transmission flexibility.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for determining an activation order in multiple secondary cell (SCell) activation. For example, an order of SCell activation may be determined when a user equipment (UE) receives a command activating multiple SCells. When the to-be-activated SCells include both known SCells and unknown SCells, the UE may activate the known SCell (s) first followed by activating the unknown SCells. If the to-be-activated SCells in a given band are all unknown SCells, the UE may operate such that the rest of the unknown SCell (s) in the same band are assumed to be known. The UE may then activate these SCell (s) in the same manner as known SCell activation and according to the same delay limits. If the to-be-activated SCells are in different bands, the UE may first activate the SCells in the band where there is the largest number of unknown SCells.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a reporting delay for cell activation. In an aspect, a terminal device receives from a network device, a cell activation command for activation of the cell. The terminal device determines a time period for reporting layer 3 (L3) measurement for the activation of the cell based on one of (i) transmitting of a report from the terminal device, (ii) receiving of a command from the network device, or (iii) information for determining the time period received from the network device. Then the terminal device transmits the L3 measurement to the network device within the time period. As such, the terminal device can determine a time period to be used for reporting L3 measurement upon cell activation command and transmits L3 report to the network device within the time period.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to apparatuses, methods, devices, and computer readable storage medium for a transmission of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS). In a method, a first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, a configuration of discontinuous transmission (DTX) of the second apparatus. The first apparatus transmits, to the second apparatus, a request for a transmission of a CSI-RS during at least one non-active period of the DTX.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to random access to a secondary cell (SCell). A first device receives, from a second device, configuration information indicating first resources for the first device to perform a random access to a secondary cell of the first device. Radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to the first resources are different from radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to second resources configured for a random access to a primary cell of the first device. The first device selects a resource from the first resources and transmits, to the second device via the secondary cell, a random access request by using the selected resource.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of relaxation compensation for improved system performance. The method comprises determining one or more parameters for compensating a delay associated with at least one evaluation of a measurement, the measurement comprising at least one of a RLM or a BFD, and in accordance with a determination that the first device is to be switched from a relaxed measurement mode to a non-relaxed measurement mode, performing the measurement compensation in the non-relaxed measurement mode based on the one or more parameters. In this way, the negative system impact from the relaxed UE RLM/BFD measurements can be removed and meanwhile the power saving of the UE can also be achieved.

Abstract: According to embodiments of the present disclosure, after a terminal device receives an activation indication from a network device to activate a secondary cell configured with physical uplink control channel or a primary secondary cell, the terminal device transmits an acknowledgment in response to the activation indication to the network device. The terminal device measures one or more reference signals related to the SCell while activating the SCell and performing a random access procedure to the network device. In this way, it can shorten delay for SCell activation and reduce latency.
