Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and devices for transmission by selecting between uplink resources. According to a method implemented by a terminal device in a communication system, a configuration of a first resource is received from a network device, the first resource being a grant-free resource. An uplink grant is received from the network device, indicating a second resource for use in a transmission time interval. The terminal device determines, based on the configuration of the first resource, whether the first resource is available in the transmission time interval. In response to determining that the first resource is available and possibly in response to a predefined condition associated with a logical channel for the terminal device is met, the terminal device transmits uplink data to the network device using the first resource.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to mechanism for providing multiple transmission opportunities. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the network device transmits the random access response which includes an indication as to the number of transmission opportunities. If the random access response includes the preamble of the terminal device, the indication as to the number of transmission opportunities is applied to the terminal device. In this way, overheads are saved and the flexibility is improved.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to mechanism for first random access mode falling back to second random access mode. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the fallback to second random access mode is indicated in messageB and the user equipment only needs to monitor the messageB for the quick mode on the downlink control signal which is addressed to an identifier. The user equipment does not need to monitor the downlink control channel for the second random access mode. In this way, the user equipment is allowed to fall back to the second random access mode without further retry of the quick node, thereby reducing overload and latency.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices and computer readable mediums for beam failure recovery. The method further includes in response to detecting the beam failure on the serving cell, generating a medium access control, MAC, control element, CE, the MAC CE including a field associated with the serving cell, wherein the field is set to be a predefined value indicating the beam failure. The method further includes transmitting the MAC CE to a network device associated with the serving cell.
