Cyclohexanedione derivatives of the formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, each of R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is independently hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, and n is an integer of 0 to 2, or salts thereof exhibit high selectivity for corn, wheat and barley, and can control gramineous weeds and broad-leaved weeds at low dosages.

The present invention relates to a trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivative represented by the general formula given below, a herbicide with the derivative as the active ingredient and a method for the preparation of the derivative. ##STR1## [In the formula, X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a haloalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n is 1, 2 or 3 and A is --O--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --S--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --SO--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --SO.sub.2 --CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 -- or --SO.sub.2 --NR.sup.3 --. And, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.]These compounds are prepared depending on A in the above given general formula by the reaction of an amine derivative and a trifluoromethanesulfonyl halide or trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride or by the oxidation of a thiochroman ring-containing trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivative.Further, these trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivatives are useful as a herbicide and serve to weeding of weeds without phytotoxicity against crops in upland field. These trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivatives can also be used as a plant growth regulator.

A triketone compound of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein Y.sup.1 is C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl, a halogen or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 haloalkyl; each of Y.sup.2 and Y.sup.3 is independently C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl; Y.sup.4 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl or a halogen; n is 0, 1 or 2; p is 0 or 1; each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is independently hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl or phenyl; or when p is 1, either R.sup.1 or R.sup.2 and either R.sup.3 or R.sup.4 optionally bond to each other to form an intramolecular double bond; and X is a group of the formula ##STR2## in which each of R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 is independently a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl group or a phenyl group. Processes for producing a pyrazole compound by reacting a compound ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, X.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or a halogen, n is 1 to 3, and p.sup.1 is 0 to 2, with a compound ##STR2## wherein R.sup.6 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and R.sup.7 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, to form a pyrazole compound ##STR3## and optionally reacting the pyrazole compound (Ia) with a sulfonic acid halide of the formula Q.sup.2 X.sup.2 (IV)wherein Q.sup.2 is --SO.sub.2 --R.sup.8 or ##STR4## in which R.sup.8 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, Y is hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.1 alkyl or a halogen, m.sup.1 is 1 to 3, and X.sup.2 is a halogen. An image processing apparatus includes a controller that selects, from multiple images photographed from different viewpoints, a set of images for three-dimensional image display. The controller determines whether or not amount-of-movement information corresponding to a parallax between the images is recorded as attribute information of the images. When the amount-of-movement information is recorded, the controller selects a combination of images having a parallax corresponding to a display size of a display section by using the recorded amount-of-movement information. When the amount-of-movement information is not recorded, the controller selects a combination of images having a parallax corresponding to the display size by determining an amount of movement through use of information resulting from determination of degrees of block matching between images divided into blocks and using information of the determined amount of movement.
