Abstract:
A device to detect a portable device associated with a user accessing an accessible region of the device with a sensor, identify the portable device and log the user into the device with a profile of the user if the accessible region is accessed by the portable device, and generate a session on the device based on the profile of the user.
Abstract:
A control mechanism includes a housing that is moveable from a first position to a second position. The housing includes a display area. The movement of the housing from the first position to the second position is detected. A first image is displayed on a display screen responsive to detection of the movement of the housing from the first position to the second position. At least a portion of the first image is optically transmitted from the display screen to the display area via an optical coupling system for display in the display area of the housing.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method (500) executed on a processor for providing object information about an object in proximity to a display screen. The method includes the step of determining whether an at least first object is located within a proximal distance of the first surface of the display screen based on information provided by a depth camera (step 510). The method also includes the step of determining whether the at least first object has physically contacted a first surface of the display screen based on information provided by a physical contact sensing component (step 520). The information about (1) the proximal distance of the at least first object from the screen and (2) whether the at least first object has physically contacted the display surface of the screen to provide proximal event information and based on the information provided, it is determining whether the user interface should be modified (step 560).
Abstract:
The present invention describes a display system. The display system includes a display, the display including a display screen capable of operating in a transparent mode; a lighting characteristic assessment component for determining the lighting characteristics of the content on the display screen and the lighting characteristics behind the display screen; and an adaptive lighting control component for controlling of an at least one lighting source and the lighting characteristics of the content on the display screen, wherein based on a comparison of the lighting characteristics of the content on the display screen and the lighting characteristics behind the display screen, modifying at least one of the lighting characteristics of the content on the display screen or the lighting characteristics of the at least one lighting source.
Abstract:
In a computerized method of identifying and displaying messages containing an identifier, where the messages are privately stored for restricted access by a user, the identifier of a document displayed in a navigation area result window is identified. In addition, the message store is scanned to identify messages containing the identifier and the messages identified as containing the identifier are displayed in a messaging area window.
