    Abstract: A relay device first receives a data packet from a network device through a first link, and sends the data packet to user equipment through a second link. A protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer, a media access control layer, and a segmentation function or a resegmentation function of a radio link control layer; a protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer, a media access control layer, a segmentation function or a resegmentation function of a radio link control layer, and an adaptation layer; or a protocol stack of the relay device consists of a physical layer and a hybrid automatic repeat request function of a media access control layer. The first link is a wireless communication link between the network device and the relay device, and the second link is a wireless direct communication link between the relay device and the user equipment.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices for use in User Equipment (UE) cooperation. A packet transmitted between a base station and a UE or between UEs includes a packet destination identifier that identifies a destination of the packet. A receiving the packet from a base station or another UE can determine whether the UE is the destination of the packet. When the UE is the destination of the packet, the UE decodes the packet. When the UE is not the destination of the packet, the UE forwards the packet to another UE. The packet may include a packet source identifier that can be used by the destination to determine where the packet originated. In some instances, the cooperative UEs do not need to decode the entire packet to be able to determine the destination of the packet and therefore can forward the packet along with less processing.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of synchronization channel design for radio access network (RAN) slicing are described. According to embodiments, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a first transmit point in a radio access network (RAN), a first synchronization signal over a first synchronization channel. The first synchronization channel is associated with a first RAN slice of a plurality of RAN slices in the RAN. The plurality of RAN slices comprise a second RAN slice associated with a second synchronization channel. The first synchronization channel and the second synchronization channel are different from a default synchronization channel of the first transmit point.
