Abstract: A forceps is provided that includes a first frame and a second frame opposing the first frame. One or both of the first and second frames include a polymer overmold where each of the first and second polymer overmolds have first and second conductor layers deposited thereon. The first and second conductor layers can have the same pattern or alternating patterns. When the first and second conductor layers have the same pattern, the forceps can include standoffs such that the first and second conductor layers are electrically isolated when the forceps is in a closed position. When the first and second conductor layers have alternating patterns, when the forceps is in a closed position, the patterns alternate such that the first and second conductor layers remain electrically isolated.

Abstract: A medical device can include an elongate outer member and an elongate inner member in the elongate outer member. The elongate outer member defines a first lumen and includes a lateral suction port that is in fluid communication with the first lumen. The elongate inner member is rotatable relative to the elongate outer member and defines a second lumen. The second lumen includes an opening at a distal end of the elongate inner member to allow passage of fluid into the second lumen. The elongate inner member has a first lateral passage where the first lateral passage is rotatable into partial alignment with the lateral suction port to provide or control suction or other fluid communication between the lateral suction port and the second lumen. The medical device also has an electrode at a distal end of the inner member.

Abstract: A medical device can include an elongate member that defines a lumen and a resection element that extends through the elongate member lumen. Abstract: The present teachings provide for a device with a membrane and an underlying switch, an underlying switch actuator, or both that has a unique tactile pattern that is felt through the membrane when the membrane is aligned with the switch, switch actuator, or both, corresponding to the electrical state of the device. The membrane, the switch, the switch actuator or a combination thereof can be repositioned from a first position to a second position so that a different tactile feel is present through the membrane corresponding to a second electrical state.

Abstract: A surgical device comprising: (a) a first jaw; (b) a second jaw opposing the first jaw, the first jaw, the second jaw, or both being movable relative to one another between a jaw nominal position and a jaw clamped position; (c) a clamp lever in communication with the first jaw and the second jaw, the clamp lever moving the first jaw, the second jaw, or both from the jaw nominal position to the jaw clamped position when an external force is imparted upon the clamp lever in a first direction; and (d) a stop bias member that stops movement of the clamp lever when the external force is removed so that the first jaw and the second jaw are in the jaw nominal position at rest; wherein the first jaw and the second jaw are movable from the jaw nominal position to a jaw spread position when the clamp lever is moved in a second direction that opposes the first direction by an external force deforming the stop bias member so that a distance between the first jaw and the second jaw is larger in the jaw spread position than in the jaw nominal position.
