Abstract: A fixture for restraining a wheel of a turbomachine is provided. The fixture includes a dovetail section adapted for insertion into a dovetail slot of the wheel, and a mounting section located adjacent to, or formed integrally with, the dovetail section. At least one coupling ring is attached to a top of the mounting section. The at least one coupling ring is adapted to be secured to a stationary anchoring point via a restraint.

Abstract: A fixture for restraining a wheel of a turbomachine has a dovetail section adapted for insertion into a dovetail slot of the wheel. A mounting section is located adjacent to, or formed integrally with, the dovetail section. At least one coupling ring is attached to the mounting section, and the coupling ring is adapted to be secured to a stationary anchoring point via a restraint. The stationary anchoring point includes at least one counterbore assembly having a coupling ring attached thereto. The counterbore assembly is adapted to be secured to a stationary structure. The stationary structure may be a shell, a flange or a casing of the turbomachine.

Abstract: Mounting apparatuses for turbine airfoils of turbine systems are disclosed. The mounting apparatuses may include a body portion configured to be at least partially positioned between a first airfoil and a second airfoil of the turbine system, and an adjustable, first retention component formed on a first side of the body portion. The adjustable, first retention component may be configured to contact a portion of a suction side of the first airfoil of the turbine system. The mounting apparatuses may also include a second retention component formed on a second side of the body portion, opposite the first side. The second retention component may be configured to contact a portion of a pressure side of the second airfoil of the turbine system.

Abstract: A system and method for determining eccentricity of a casing and a rotor of a gas turbine includes a plurality of stationary distance detectors coupled to the casing at known circumferential positions and a rotating distance detector coupled to the rotor or a blade in or near an axial plane defined by the stationary distance detectors. The stationary distance detectors transmit wireless signals to one another to determine a first series of distance measurements between each pair of stationary distance detectors. The rotating distance detector transmits wireless signals to each of the stationary distance detectors, as the rotor is spun, to generate a second series of distance measurements. The measurements are transmitted, over a wireless local area network, to a remote computing device that processes the distance measurements into an eccentricity plot. An optional base station may be used to generate the wireless network.

Abstract: Various embodiments include apparatuses for performing maintenance on a gas turbine (GT) combustion can, along with related methods. One apparatus can include: a mounting plate having at least two fasteners extending therethrough, the mounting plate configured to engage a fixed combustion chamber in the GT; a can adjustment bar configured to engage the can combustor, the can adjustment bar including a set of apertures extending therethrough; a set of guide pins extending through the set of apertures in the can adjustment bar and coupled with the mounting plate, the set of guide pins connecting the mounting plate with the can adjustment bar; and an adjustment member extending between the can adjustment bar and the mounting plate, the adjustment member configured to modify a position of the can adjustment bar relative to the mounting plate.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a system that includes a processor configured to execute an augmented reality (AR) translator and visualizer system. The AR translator and visualizer system is configured to receive a language file that includes content, determine a background in the language file, remove the background, and retrieve the content from the language file. Moreover, the AR translator and visualizer system is configured to overlay the content onto a real world view via a display to form AR content that includes the content merged with the real world view. Furthermore the AR translator and visualizer system is configured to cause the system to display the real world view overlaid with the content via the display.

Abstract: This disclosure provides tools for installing and removing a combustion liner in a combustion casing. A mounting frame has fasteners positioned circumferentially around an end casing surface of the combustion casing and removably attaches the mounting frame to the combustion casing. A positioning member has pushing surfaces and pulling surfaces distributed circumferentially around the combustion liner. An axial positioning mechanism engages the mounting frame and the positioning member along a common axis. The axial positioning mechanism incrementally positions the positioning member relative to the mounting frame by adjusting a positioning distance between the mounting frame and the positioning member.
