Abstract:
A rotary piston internal combustion engine of trochoidal construction which operates with ignition of fuel-air mixture by spark plugs and which is equipped with a polygonal piston, for example, a triangular piston rotatably supported on the eccentric of an eccentric shaft. The piston slides with its corners along the trochoidal running surface, for example, along a two-arched trochoidally shaped running surface while a piston flank is disposed between each two corners of the piston, to which is coordinated a working chamber within the housing. The casing is also provided with an inlet channel having a throttling member arranged therein and with an exhaust channel. An arrangement is provided which in dependence on the number of stages of the engine and with a closed and substantially closed throttling device prevent, after an ignition of the fuel-air mixture in a working chamber, at least once an ignition of the fuel-air mixture in the same working chamber for purposes of achieving a high uniformity and/or small periodic length of the torque at the eccentric shaft by the suppression of the ignition pulse.
Abstract:
The servo control system that is provided particularly as a power steering system for motor vehicles has two shaft parts that can be rotated with respect to one another against a spring force. An element slides as a function of the relative rotation, said element, in turn, adjusting a control slide of a servo valve arranged with a stationary housing. Correspondingly, a piston of a motor operator is acted upon by different pressures.
Abstract:
A device for the shifting of a multi-disk clutch for the locking of a transfer differntial for the drive of two vehicle axles of a motor vehicle, wherein the multi-disk clutch is engaged by means of the force of a spring and is released by means of an axial piston that can be acted upon by working pressure. The axial piston acts upon the set of disks via a pressure ring that, with respect to the disk carrier of one half of the clutch, is fixed in the direction of the clutch axis pointing away from a first counterbearing of the set of disks by a second counterbearing. The first counterbearing of the set of disks is coupled with the disk carrier by means of an adjusting arrangement that works toward displacing the first counterbearing by an additional spring force toward the pressure ring along the clutch axis. In a position of a control valve that brings the disk clutch into the engaged position, the working pressure chamber used for the admission of pressure to the axial piston is connected with a pressure-relieved storage tank via a hydraulic throttling arrangement.
Abstract:
A divided flywheel for reducing vibrations transmitted from an engine to a power transmission line has an input and output part connected, respectively, to the engine and the transmission line. The input and output parts are coupled by coupling spring arrangement which allows for a degree of relative rotation of the parts. A plurality of attenuators (e.g., stop springs, friction linings, etc.) are arranged to take effect following selected predetermined angular displacements of the input and output parts. A preferred arrangement includes a connecting part, which is frictionally attached to one of the input and output parts and which engages the other of the parts following relative rotation by a first predetermined angular displacement, and a stop spring arrangement which is engaged following relative displacement of the parts by a second predetermined angular displacement.
Abstract:
An installation for damping vibrations in the drive connection of vehicles, especially of motor vehicles, with the aid of a vibration damper whose vibrating mass is constructed as annular body and is connected with a driving part of the drive connection by means of an elastic body; the damper thereby serves for damping the torsional vibrations of the drive connection and also the bending vibrations of the drive shaft while the elastic body is delimited, on the one hand, by a cylinder surface and, on the other, by a polygonal surface.
Abstract:
A clutch disc for motor vehicle main clutches in which the disc member carrying the friction linings is torsionally elastically connected with the flange of a hub member, whereby several springs or spring sets of different characteristics are arranged in windows at the hub flange, on the one hand, and of the disc member as well as of a side plate rigidly connected therewith, on the other; at least two friction devices for the damping are provided whereby the start of the operation of at least one damping device is determined by a control plate which with its tabs, arms or the like engages into the windows intended for the accommodation of the springs and cooperates with the springs; the connection between the disc member and the side plate takes place by way of several axially parallel bolts which extend through the hub flange in corresponding apertures; the control plate has two approximately radially extending arms which include each a radial extension that--in relation to a direction of rotation--abut at opposite spring ends; at least one arm thereby also engages with an axially bent-off portion into the corresponding window at the hub flange.
Abstract:
A selection system for an automatic motor vehicle transmission has a selector element for selecting transmission adjustments (P, R, N, D) which can be manually adjusted. A toggle lever arrangement connected with the selector element acts transversely to the moving direction of a locking element. As a result, a manual force on the selector element cannot be transmitted or can only be transmitted in a highly reduced manner to the locking element. To reduce the overall size of the systems, the locking element is preferably an armature of a solenoid arranged parallel to the axes of rotation of the toggle lever arrangement.
Abstract:
A hydraulic flow control apparatus has shape memory alloy springs which develop substantial actuating forces only at relatively high temperature. As a result of these forces, an only relatively slightly throttled connecting path between delivery side and intake side of a pump is opened directly or indirectly.
Abstract:
The flywheel elements are resiliently coupled by means of two groups of springs which are connected in parallel. One group of springs operates with play and becomes operative substantially only when high torques are transmitted. At low speeds when only low torques can be generated by the engine, the flywheel has a very low resonance frequency determined solely by the second group of springs without play. This frequency remains below the frequencies of the vibrations which occur in this service phase. Upon the transmission of higher torques generated by the engine at higher speeds, although the resonance frequency rises due to the effect of the first group of springs with play, nevertheless, the resonance frequency remains below the frequency of the vibrations which occur at higher speed.
Abstract:
A steering wheel end shaft part and a gear end shaft part are connected together elastically by means of a mechanism located between the shaft parts, the relative rotation between the shaft parts being converted into a large-stroke pivoting movement of a setting lever which actuates a control valve unit of the power steering system.
