Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein relate generally to a stylus for texture capture. The stylus includes an image sensing and capture device to permit a surface to be scanned using the stylus and an image may be stored and displayed on an electronic device to represent the texture of the scanned surface.
Abstract:
An audio accessory is configured to receive and store meta data from a media player, including the media asset identification and current play position. The audio accessory is configured to independently track the current play position of the media asset. When the audio accessory is disconnected from the first media player the audio accessory is configured to store the independently tracked current play position in memory. After the audio accessory is subsequently connected to a second media player, the second media player may retrieve the meta data from the audio accessory and use it to load the media asset on the second player and resume play from the stored current play position.
Abstract:
Connector receptacles that may be space efficient and provide a direct connection to a flexible circuit board. One example may provide an electronic device having a receptacle including a recess formed in a housing of the electronic device. The recess may have a sidewall and a bottom surface portion, and the bottom surface portion may include one or more openings extending through the bottom surface portion from an external surface to an internal surface. One or more contacts formed on a flexible circuit board may be aligned with the one or more openings in the bottom surface portion. In this way, the receptacle may be space efficient and provide a direct connection to a flexible circuit board inside an electronic device. A cosmetic cap may be placed in the recess to obscure the existence of the connector receptacle.
Abstract:
A touch implement may include one or more controllers coupled to one or more haptic devices and one or more sensors that detect when the touch implement contacts a surface. The controller may provide haptic feedback via the haptic device(s) to simulate a texture of the surface when the touch implement is in contact. In some cases the texture may correspond to a texture displayed on the surface whereas in other implementations the texture may be unrelated to the appearance of the surface. In some implementations, the touch implement may detect information about the texture of the surface or information encoded in surface about texture or haptic feedback to provide and adjust haptic feedback accordingly. In other implementations, the touch implement may receive transmitted information regarding the texture or haptic feedback to provide and adjust haptic feedback accordingly.
