Abstract:
A system and method for transferring scanned imaging data from a scanning device to a personal imaging repository. The present invention includes a scanning device capable of reading information encoded items, such as smart cards for scanning imaging data, a personal imaging repository associated with a particular user for storing imaging data that is to be accessed by requested web services, an item for storing user information relating to the personal imaging repository, and a device firmware for storing scanned imaging data from the scanning device into the personal imaging repository, which is an exchange infrastructure between the imaging data and available web services on the Internet.
Abstract:
A printing device can transmit authentication data to a client computer remotely connected to the printing device. The authentication data can be used by the client computer to authenticate itself to a server computer.
Abstract:
A server system and a printing device are described. The server system can obtain environmental data that describes at least one environmental condition. The server system can transmit first data to the printing device. The first data is based upon the environmental data.
Abstract:
A distributed imaging capability to a user of a client device using data partially obtained from an enterprise resource planning system. Document creation, manipulation, editing, and output is provided by and associated with the originating user. Generic access instructions cause associated document data to be retrieved or stored. Multiple documents and output devices may be employed to accomplish distributed imaging functionality. Interactive graphical printing configuration and monitoring can be utilized.
Abstract:
Example systems, methods, computer-readable mediums, and other forms of a secure foreign enterprise printing system are provided. An example system may include a wireless telephonic logic for communicating with a wireless network web services provider and a wireless network communication logic configured to communicate a print request to the wireless network web services provider using the wireless telephonic logic. The print item may be stored in a first enterprise and may be printed on an image forming device that is located in a second enterprise. The example system may also include an encryption logic configured to facilitate providing security for the print item as it travels from the first enterprise to the image forming device.
Abstract:
A client configurable web based imaging page redirector method, system and program product, comprising the steps of: storing a redirector reference to redirector software; obtaining content to be processed and accessing the redirector reference and directing a browser to the redirector software; and determining via redirector software at least one destination reference to a desired web page destination or web based imaging service.
Abstract:
A web based imaging destination service requests web content from its paper handling accessories for a represented printing device and incorporates this content into the web content that it downloads into the client browser. In some embodiments, the printing device's destination service does not understand the web content coming from the accessory but simply integrates that content into the content it downloads. In some embodiments, the destination service synthesizes web content that is influenced by the accessories of the represented printing device. In a variation, the content coming from the accessory includes executable content. In a further variation, the executable content includes a means of collecting and conveying settings back to the printing device. In yet another variation, the accessory actually contains its own destination server that is accessed through the printing device's destination server.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing links to services available to an operably connected local computer over a network. The present invention includes a thin portal service for finding services available to the local computer, a thin portal service web content created by the thin portal service for returning links to the discovered available services, and a web browser installed on the local computer for displaying the thin portal service content.
Abstract:
In a web based imaging environment, a user accesses a destination service representing a printer having manual duplex printing capability, and selects a manual duplex option. If the selected printer is unfamiliar to the destination service, it guides the user through a training process describing the paper input path of the printer. The destination service prints an image on a page, asks the user to reload the page in a certain orientation and prints an image on the page again. The user provides feedback about the orientations of the printed images, which the destination service uses to formulate instructions to later guide the user through manual duplex printing using the selected printer. In a variation, the destination service stores the manual duplex instructions formulated for various printers, thus avoiding the need to retrain.
Abstract:
A program product, method and system including machine readable code for accessing compositions, comprising: code for providing access to a plurality of user profiles, with each different user profile including a reference to a different composition store and a different graphics store; and code for selecting one of the plurality of user profiles. In one embodiment, the plurality of user profiles include an internal user profile including a reference to an internal composition store inside a firewall and a reference to a default internal graphic store inside the firewall; and an external user profile including a reference to an external composition store outside the firewall and a reference to a default external graphic store outside the firewall.
