Abstract: An aerosol provision device is described comprising: a battery; an antenna for receiving radio frequency signals and a charging controller configured to charge the battery with power extracted from the received radio frequency signals. The antenna is extendable so as to increase an exposed surface area of the antenna. A case is also described comprising means for electrically coupling the case to the aerosol provision device; an antenna for receiving radio frequency signals; and a charging controller configured to charge a battery of the aerosol provision device and/or the case with power extracted from the received radio frequency signals.

Abstract: A non-combustible aerosol-generating device is disclosed. It comprises a display for displaying an image visible to a user in an activated state, and control circuitry configured to detect the presence of a user and/or a remote device in the proximity of the aerosol-generating device, and to switch the display from a deactivated state in which no image is displayed to an activated state in response to said detection. Also disclosed is a non-combustible aerosol-generating device in which a displayed image is modified or changed when a user and/or device is proximal to the aerosol-generating device. A non-combustible aerosol-generating system and a method of controlling a non-combustible aerosol-generating device is also disclosed.

Abstract: Described herein is a method of generating aerosol from an aerosol-generating substrate using an aerosol-generating device, the aerosol-generating device comprising at least three heating zones disposed so as to each heat a different section of the substrate to generate an aerosol without burning. The method comprises sequentially generating aerosol from each different section of substrate, wherein during heating; (i) a section of substrate is heated to an aerosol-generation temperature; (ii) another section of substrate which is heated to an intermediate temperature which is below the aerosol-generation temperature but and approximately equal to or above the minimum operating temperature; (iii) at least one of the remaining sections of substrate are heated to a minimum operating temperature which is at least sufficient to prevent condensation of volatilized components on or in the vicinity of those sections; and wherein once aerosol has been generated from a section, (a) the temperature in that section is reduced from the aerosol-generation temperature to the minimum operating temperature, (b) the section previously heated to the intermediate temperature is heated to the aerosol-generation temperature, and (c) a further section is heated to the intermediate temperature.

Abstract: An aerosol provision cartridge (30) for an aerosol provision system (10). The cartridge (30) comprises a refillable chamber (100) for aerosol precursor material, the chamber (100) comprising a first opening (102) and a second opening (104), each opening (102;104) allowing for access into the chamber (100). Each opening (102;104) is covered by a respective cap (130;132) which is configured to be uncoupled from the chamber (100) for allowing access to the opening (102;104). The cartridge (30) is configured such that each cap (130;132), when coupled to the chamber (100), requires at least two different actions (A1;A2) to be uncoupled from the chamber (100). The first or second action (A1;A2) may each include, but are not limited, to: rotating; pulling; pushing; or unlatching.

Abstract: An aerosol provision system (1) for generating an aerosol, wherein the aerosol provision system (1) is configured to wirelessly transmit a feedback signal (290) to an audio output device (200). The feedback signal (290) is configured for controlling the audio output device (200), which may be a loudspeaker, headphone, or earphone. In some cases, the feedback signal (290) is configured to be wirelessly transmitted by the aerosol provision system (1) in response to a predetermined event being determined as being satisfied by the aerosol provision system (290). In this way, the feedback signal (290) can used as a means to ultimately provide the user, via the audio output device (200), an indication of a current status of the aerosol provision system (1).
