Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to resource allocation in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system. In an example, the aspects include receiving, by a wireless node, an indication of not-available (NA) resources of a parent node, the NA resources corresponding to a first set of one or more resources configured at the parent node as being unavailable for uplink and downlink communications between the parent node and the wireless node, wherein the indication of NA resources of the parent node comprises an invalid time division duplex (TDD)-uplink-downlink configuration; and refraining, by the wireless node, from communicating with the parent node within the NA resources based on the indication of NA resources of the parent node.

Abstract: Aspects relate to using different paging techniques for different sets of scheduled entities. In some examples, different paging message configurations are assigned to different sets of scheduled entities. In some examples, different paging resources are assigned to different sets of scheduled entities. In some examples, different paging-radio network temporary identifiers (P-RNTIs) are assigned to different sets of scheduled entities. In some examples, different SI modification fields indicate SI changes for different sets of scheduled entities. In some examples, different sets of scheduled entities use different paging search spaces. In some examples, different sets of scheduled entities use different paging parameters.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques switching a communication link for wireless systems with multiple parents, such as an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network or other type of network. In some cases, a node determines a partition of a number of desired guard symbols between a first parent node and a second parent node; sends, to the first parent node and to the second parent node, at least one indication of a partitioned number of the desired guard symbols for switching between the first parent node and the second parent node; receives at least one indication of a number of provided guard symbols from the first and second parent nodes; and switches a communication link from the first parent node to the second parent node in accordance with the at least one indication of provided guard symbols by the first parent node and the second parent node.

Abstract: Aspects relate to enhancing the provision of gaps at transitions between resources allocated for communication on access links and resources allocated for communication on backhaul links. In some examples, a child integrated access backhaul network (IAB) node may transmit a message to a parent IAB node requesting a number of guard symbols to provide a gap at transitions. In some examples, the parent IAB node may transmit the number of guard symbols provided at transitions to the child IAB node. The parent IAB node, child IAB node, and/or an IAB donor node central unit may further identify a subcarrier spacing associated with the number of guard symbols.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for uplink resource management. For example, a method is provided including receiving a configuration granting a plurality of periodic uplink resources for use by the first wireless communication device to transmit data on an uplink. The method further includes determining for a first uplink resource of the plurality of periodic uplink resources, that grant of the first uplink resource for use by the first wireless communication device can be released. The method further includes based on the determining for the first uplink resource, transmitting to a second wireless communication device an indication that the grant of the first uplink resource for use by the first wireless communication device can be released.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for uplink resource management. For example, a method of wireless communication by a first communication device is provided including receiving, from a second communication device, a configuration allocating at least one uplink resource for use by the first communication device to transmit data on an uplink. The method further includes initiating preparing data for transmission on a first uplink resource of the at least one uplink resource prior to receiving an activation indication for the first uplink resource. The method further includes when the activation indication is received from the second communication device, transmitting uplink data on the first uplink resource to the second communication device. The method further includes when failing to receive the activation indication from the second communication device, refraining from transmitting uplink data on the first uplink resource.

TECHNIQUES FOR A RADIO ACCESS NETWORK ENTITY TO ADJUST TIMING IN WIRELESS NETWORKS

Abstract: Aspects provide for autonomous adjustment of the uplink and downlink transmission timing in wireless communication networks. A radio access network (RAN) entity (e.g., a scheduling entity, such as a base station or parent integrated access backhaul (IAB) node, or a centralized network node, such as an IAB donor node central unit) may provide support to a scheduled entity (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or child IAB node) to operate in an autonomous time adjustment (ATA) mode to autonomously adjust its uplink transmission timing to compensate for the change in downlink reception timing. The RAN entity may generate ATA mode information related to the ATA mode for the scheduled entity and transit the ATA mode information to the scheduled entity.
