Abstract: A base station can include a transceiver and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The transceiver can enable wireless communication with a user equipment (UE) by a first component carrier (CC) in a first cell managed by the base station in a carrier aggregation (CA) wireless communication system. The processor can generate a system scheduling message to be transmitted on the first CC to the UE in the first cell, where the system scheduling message comprises a schedule of monitoring occasions for system information of a second CC by the UE in a second cell. Afterwards, the processor can transmit the system scheduling message on the first CC to the UE.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing a beam pairing procedure between a transmission UE and a receiver UE. The transmission UE and the receiver UE can configure a set of beam patterns to be used in the beam pairing procedure. The set of beam patterns can include one or more transmission beams of the UE, and one or more receiving beams of the receiver UE. The transmission UE can transmit one or more sidelink reference signals to the receiver UE, and the receiver UE can perform signal strength measurements of the one or more sidelink reference signals. Based on the signal strength measurements, either the transmission UE or the receiver UE can make the selection of the transmission beam and the corresponding receiving beam for the beam pairing procedure.

Abstract: Current 5G provisions for wireless communications do not allow for the differentiation of channel access by User Equipments (UEs) with different priorities. Approaches are described by which priority access for UEs in a controlled environment using frame based equipment (FBE), and in particular for different UEs or the same UE that has different configured grants. The approaches are particularly helpful for ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) UEs. In one approach, the UE performs a clear channel assessment (CCA) in an idle period before the fixed frame period (FFP), followed by a channel access priority test. In an alternative approach, the UE performs a channel access priority test before the UE performs a clear channel assessment (CCA) in an idle period before the fixed frame period (FFP). Other approaches include setting the fixed frame period length to different sizes for each UE, using a random number of skipped fixed frame periods, and the gNB configuring UEs with multiple semi-static channel access mode parameters.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for Random Access Channel (RACH) configuration in Layer 1 (L1)/Layer 2 (L2) mobility. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a downlink (DL) Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) list from a first Transmission and Reception Point (TRP). The DL TCI list may include DL beam information, RACH Occasion (RO) information, and initial Bandwidth Part (BWP) information associated with each DL TCI of a plurality of DL TCIs related to the first TRP and multiple TRPs adjacent to the first TRP. The UE may receive a handover command from the first TRP via Downlink Control Information (DCI) in Li or Media Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) in L2. The handover command indicates a handover from the first TRP to a second TRP of the multiple TRPs for the UE, and includes a specified DL TCI related to the second TRP. The UE may determine RACH information related to the second TRP, based at least partly on the specified DL TCI related to the second TRP included in the handover command and the DL TCI list. The UE may then perform random access to the second TRP based on the RACH information related to the second TRP. The RACH information may include uplink (UL) beam information, RO information and Bandwidth Part (BWP) information for the UE to perform random access to the second TRP.

Abstract: An approach to reduce the signaling overhead for tracking reference signal (TRS) configuration signaling to idle and inactive user equipments (UEs) operating in a wireless communication system. Conventional signaling approaches require more bits that can be conveyed in the maximum system information block (SIB) message size. One proposed approach optimizes the signaling by removing unnecessary or redundant information, using a single TRS configuration to replace multiple configurations, size reduction in some fields, and the sharing of some fields across different TRS configurations. Another proposed approach uses an SIB message to carry the TRS configurations for a particular beam or subset of beams. These two proposed approaches may be combined to provide further optimization possibilities.
