Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support a configuration for a measurement resource. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving a medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) or downlink control information (DCI) that indicates a configuration for a channel measurement resource (CMR) time restriction, an interference measurement resource (IMR) time restriction, or a combination thereof. The method also includes transmitting a report based on the configuration. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: In an aspect, the present disclosure includes a method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for wireless communications at a UE, comprising receiving a RACH configuration from a network entity of a primary cell, the RACH configuration identifies at least two sets of RSs each corresponding to one of at least two different TRPs of a secondary cell; measuring one or more transmissions on each of the at least two sets of RSs for the at least two different TRPs; selecting at least a pair of RSs from the at least two different TRPs for a RACH procedure based on measuring the one or more transmissions; and transmitting a MSG1 of the RACH procedure with at least the pair of RSs on at least two allocated RACH occasions simultaneously to each TRP of the at least two different TRPs using at least one of FDM and SDM.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for improving the reliability of downlink transmissions from a base station to a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine one or more preferred configurations for the base station to use to transmit multiple downlink transmissions to the UE, and the UE may transmit a recommendation of the preferred configuration(s) to the base station. The base station may then determine configurations to use for the multiple downlink transmissions based on the recommendation received from the UE, and the base station may transmit the downlink transmissions to the UE using the determined configurations. Because the UE may provide the recommendation of the preferred configuration(s) to the base station, the configurations used by the base station for the multiple downlink transmissions may be selected specifically for the UE. Thus, the reliability of the downlink transmissions may improve.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information for both a first set of reference signals for a first beam sweeping procedure and a second set of reference signals for a second beam sweeping procedure. The UE may receive the first set of reference signals according to the configuration information, and may transmit a channel state information (CSI) report to the base station based on the received reference signals. After transmitting the CSI report, both the base station and the UE may autonomously update a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state based on the CSI report (e.g., using a preferred transmit beam indicated in the CSI report). The base station may transmit on the preferred transmit beam, and the UE may receive on various candidate receive beams, the second set of reference signals.

Abstract: Methods are provided for configuring an initial CORESET and associated search space during beam management. A base station (BS) receives measurements of at least one downlink reference signal (RS) from a User Equipment (UE), wherein each of the at least one downlink RS is associated with a transmit beam. The BS selects, based on the received measurements, a transmit beam for transmitting on resources of an initial time and frequency control resource set (CORESET), wherein the initial CORESET schedules unicast Physical Downlink Data Channel (PDSCH) for the UE, wherein the initial CORESET is identified during initial access of the UE to the BS. The BS transmits information relating to the initial CORESET on the selected beam in a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (MAC-CE), wherein the information is transmitted using a combination of bits in the MAC-CE, the bits configured for indicating CORESETs.

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes communicating using beams associated with at least two beam groups, transmitting a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a first beam group of the at least two beam groups based on a detected beam failure in the first beam group, and receiving a response to the BFRQ based, at least in part, on how the BFRQ is transmitted.
