Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for radio link recovery procedure enhancements in wireless communication systems. In some cases, radio link recovery may be enhanced (e.g., sped up and network congestion reduced) by allowing a user equipment (UE) to use an additional secondary cell (SCell) serving the UE to assist in beam recovery when a layer one (L1) event is detected on a primary cell (PCell) or primary secondary cell (PSCell) of the UE.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for precoding for multi-panel uplink transmission. For codebook-based uplink transmission, a user equipment (UE) can determine one or more preferred or selected precoders for uplink transmission. The precoders can be from an expanded UE codebook that maps a first number of transmit layers at the UE to a second number of antenna ports at the UE, the layers and/or antenna ports associated with multiple uplink transmit panels at the UE. The UE sends an indication to a base station (BS) of the determined precoders and/or sends an uplink transmission using the determined precoders. For non-codebook based uplink transmission the UE receives first and second reference signals (RSs), from first and second ports of a BS, with first and second UE antenna panels. The UE computes precoders to use for uplink transmission based on the RSs.

The user equipment may receive information that identifies a subset of the plurality of uplink beams to be used for an uplink data transmission based at least in part on transmitting the communications. The user equipment may transmit the uplink data transmission on the subset of the uplink beams based at least in part on receiving the information that identifies the subset of the uplink beams. Abstract: In multi-beam communication, the UE may assist in the scheduling of beams utilized during the multi-beam communication by improving the manner in which the quality of the beam is reported to the network. The apparatus may measure a signal received from a base station on at least one beam. The apparatus may detect a triggering event for providing CSI for the at least one beam. The apparatus may transmit an uplink transmission comprising a CSI report in response to detecting the triggering event. The apparatus may receive an uplink request from a UE for providing CSI for at least one beam. The apparatus may transmit an indication scheduling a CSI report in response to the uplink request. The apparatus may receive an uplink transmission from the UE comprising the CSI report for the at least one beam.
