Abstract: A device receives an instruction to authorize a relationship corresponding to communication over a first data connection with a peripheral display unit, and receives authentication data from the peripheral display unit over another data connection. The device then establishes a connection with the peripheral display unit over the first data connection, including providing the authentication information to the peripheral display unit. The device monitors a battery charge level and battery-usage patterns and provides alerts in accordance therewith. The device displays a reconfiguration interface for configuring the user interfaces of one or more peripheral display units, and detects a request to configure an interface of a peripheral. In response to detecting the request, the device displays an updated representation of the peripheral interface, and afterwards transmits instructions to the peripheral to display the user interface in accordance with the request.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for collecting, storing, and transmitting account information in a matchable form, and for using this information to quickly set up accounts. Account information is maintained and shared between one or more client devices and an intermediate server. Account information can be reconciled locally to determine whether to add or enable an active account or an account proxy to a client device. Account proxies can be quickly enabled by a single user action. The methods and systems allow enabled accounts and account proxies to be removed from a first client device without propagating the deletion to a second client device.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a data processing system includes a guest account that is configured to assist in the protection and recovery of the data processing system when it is lost or stolen. In one embodiment, the guest account can allow Internet access and can include a web browser to allow the guest, who might be a thief, to use the system to browse the Internet. While such use occurs, the system can perform actions specified by an authorized user of the system, and such actions can include determining a location of the system and transmitting the location to the authorized user, erasing data on the system, displaying a message, capturing an image, etc.

Abstract: The present aspects relate to audio management for a web browser. For example, an electronic device such as a mobile device may enable a user to navigate to a webpage within a web browser. In some embodiments, the webpage may automatically initiate presentation of audio content. However, the user may wish to quickly silence the audio content that is playing without locating the media player controls of the audio content within the webpage. Accordingly, the present aspects provide audio control for a web browser. Specifically, an audio control affordance may be displayed at a noticeable and recognizable position or area in the web browser, and based on a determination that a webpage includes audio content and/or determination of playback of the audio content. The user may in turn readily adjust a property of the audio content.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is not sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device displays a message in the fingerprint enrollment interface prompting a user to perform one or more additional finger gestures on the fingerprint sensor with the finger.

Abstract: A method performed at an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display includes displaying a text entry interface area at a first predefined size and with a text input field. The method includes concurrently displaying, at a first size, a viewing area adjacent to the text entry interface area. The viewing area is configured to display scrollable information that includes information entered via the text entry interface. The method includes detecting a first finger gesture on the touch-sensitive display at the text input field. The method includes, in response to detecting the first finger gesture: decreasing the viewing area from the first size to a second size smaller than the first size, and increasing the text entry interface area from the first predefined size to a second predefined size. At the second predefined size, the text entry interface area includes the text input field and a soft keyboard.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a media content user interface. A media content provider includes storage for storing and serving video content to subscribers. The media content provider records and or otherwise stores video content from around the world. Subscribers are provided a user interface to the system that includes a side bar. The user interface provides context sensitive hints to assist the viewer. The system also tracks a viewer's viewing history in a manner that allows the viewer to review and directly access any part of that history. Finally, magnetic points are created for use during video scrubbing to intelligently select relocation points for the current playback position.

Abstract: A multifunction device generates a display of a first view of an application-centric library associated with an application. The application-centric library has content rules that limit files to those that include content compatible with the application. The first view includes a representation of a first file compatible with the application and added to the application-centric library. The instructions also include: while displaying the first view, detecting first inputs; in response to detecting the first inputs, generating a display of a second view comprising a representation of a second file not added to the application-centric library; while displaying the second view, detecting second inputs interpreted as a selection of the representation of the second file; and in response to detecting the second inputs, in accordance with a determination that the second file is compatible with the application, adding the second file to the application-centric library.
