The bottom panel is formed from an inner flap to which article retainer tabs and locking tabs are hinged and an outer flap to which retainer support tabs are hinged. The locking tabs extend up partially through openings in the inner bottom panel flap and engage the retainer support tabs, which in turn support the article retainer tabs. Slits in the outer bottom panel flap extending from the openings receive remaining portions of the locking tabs.

摘要： An article carrier has a plurality of interconnected panels, including a side wall panel and a second wall panel which are foldably interconnected. Article receiving and retention in the carrier along the side wall panel and second wall panel is provided by an aperture adapted to receive a portion of an article contained within the carrier, and a flap struck from and hingaably connected to an edge of the aperture, which flap is adapted to abut the article received in the aperture. The flap is pivotal into an operative position about its hinged connection inwardly of the carrier to provide portions thereof which protrude both inwardly and outwardly of the carrier so that a portion of the flap engages the article internally of the carrier and another portion of the flap engages the article externally of the carrier.

The limbs have aligned openings (7) shaped to fit closely about at least the forward circumference of said article, with the rear portion of said article positively located by said openings and/or by the said rear panel region and/or by material of said sheet at the juncture of said limbs. The sheet is initially set with a small angle between the limbs to facilitate insertion of the battery, then the angle between the limbs is increased so that the edges of the openings (7) press against the front of the battery.

摘要： A package comprises a plurality of flanged articles arranged into a two-tiered group wherein the articles in the upper tier are positioned in top-to-top contacting relation with the articles in the lower tier. Each article has a tubular side wall with a peripheral flange at its top end. The articles are arranged such that the axes of the articles in each tier are disposed vertically and parallel to each other. The group of articles is covered by a sleeve-like carton which includes top and bottom panels interconnected by a pair of side panels and an article retainer for engagement with both the flanges of a pair of the vertically aligned articles located at one of the open ends of the carton. The top panel overlies the bottoms of the articles in the upper tier whereas the bottom panel underlies the bottoms of the articles in the lower tier. The side panels are disposed alongside the side walls of the articles.

At least one locking tab (410, 412) projects from an end edge of one of the walls (400) and includes a central portion (410) together with at least one wing (412). A locking opening (114) is provided in the opposite region of the blank, in the vicinity of a hinge (P3) between another main (100) and a locking flap (110). Each tab is inserted into a corresponding opening by temporarily deforming the associated wing(s). The invention is particularly suitable for providing the outer packaging of primary containers.

摘要： A wrap-around carrier with gusset panels connected to the bottom panel that automatically fold into their upright position when the bottom panel flaps are set up for locking engagement. The resulting upright portions of the gusset panels contact the bottom portion of adjacent articles in the carrier to prevent the articles from falling out through the ends of the carrier. The fold lines connecting the gusset panels to the side panels are angled back to lengthen these fold lines while cutouts in the gusset panels shorten the length of the other fold lines of the gusset panels. This increases the pulling power of the gusset panels while decreasing the bias force which must be overcome in order for the gusset panels to be folded into their upright position.

摘要： A carton for glassware or like articles includes a conventional sleeve with a top, a bottom, sidewalls and a central dividing panel. Locking mechanisms are located on each end of the sidewalls. Each locking mechanism includes a connected series of panels hinged to a sidewall of the carton at two places. The locking panels have an initial position in which they are flat and out of the way to permit articles to be placed in the carton. To hold the articles inside the carton, the locking panels are shifted to form a wedge shape which partially blocks the open ends of the sleeve. A locking tab is folded into the interior of the wedge to hold it in place. Preferably the locking panels are three in number and extend from an edge of a sidewall of the carton.

摘要： A single piece carrier of the wrap around style is comprised of a plurality of hinged walls that can be wrapped about a plurality of articles such as flats of eggs. The carrier is erected by encircling the articles and at the top of the carrier a hand hold is formed by inserting the hand hold portion through a slot in the top wall. A locking flap is located along one side of the overlying top wall which is then inserted into a corresponding slot in the other top wall portion and locked in place. A locking tab is then forced inwardly through an aperture within the locking flap and when the tab is in the interior it serves as a locking abutment member holding the articles securely in place. An additional locking means consisting of inwardly extending flaps serves to prevent product slideout.
