Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for capability based cell selection and cell reselection. A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving system information including information for cell selection, cell reselection, or a combination thereof. The system information comprises at least first system information associated with a first one or more capabilities and second system information associated with a second one or more capabilities. The method includes performing a measurement of one or more signals from one or more cells. The method includes performing cell selection, cell reselection, or both based at least in part on the system information, the measurement of the one or more signals, and one or more capabilities of the UE.

Abstract: Aspects relate to signal measurements. A first apparatus (e.g., a distributed unit) may measure a signal associated with a user equipment that does not have a connection with the first apparatus. The first apparatus may output measurement information based on the signal measurement to a second apparatus (e.g., a central unit). In response, the second apparatus may output a message based on the measurement information. In some examples, the second apparatus may determine whether to activate or deactivate a cell associated with the first apparatus based on the measurement information, and send a corresponding message to the first apparatus. In some examples, the second apparatus may forward some or all of the measurement information to a third apparatus (e.g., another distributed unit or a base station) for use in interference mitigation operations and/or power coordination operations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may have a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a first central unit of a first network node. The IAB node may receive an indication that the IAB node is to establish an IAB node-to-central unit connection (e.g., a F1 detour connection) with a second central unit of a second network node via the RRC connection between the IAB node and the first network node. The indication may be associated with a handover between the first network node to the second network node, where the first network node may the source node and the second network node may be the target node, or vice versa. The IAB node may communicate, with the second network node, via the IAB node-to-central unit connection using the RRC connection between the IAB node and the first network node.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a source node may forward a first message between a user equipment (UE) and a core node via a distributed node, wherein the first message is a non-access stratum message. The source node may transmit, to a target node, a second message associated with a migration of the distributed node from the source node to the target node, wherein the second message identifies the forwarding of the first message. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a network entity to receive an uplink transmission from a UE in UE DTX or cell DRX based on dynamic activation or deactivation of a DTX configuration or an associated uplink transmission configuration with respect to DTX. In some examples, the UE receives a DTX configuration associated with a UE transmission configuration and indicating an active time duration for a UE transmission associated with the UE transmission configuration. The UE also receives the uplink transmission configuration, such as an SR configuration, and a semi-static or dynamic indication of an active status of the DTX configuration or the uplink transmission configuration with respect to the DTX configuration. Afterwards, the UE transmits the UE transmission during the active time duration indicated in the DTX configuration based on the active status. As a result, less uplink transmission monitoring may result at the base station, providing network energy savings.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for cell access procedures based on multiple types of discovery signals that may be transmitted by network entities operating in an energy saving (ES) mode. A user equipment (UE) may establish wireless connectivity via a first network entity and receive a discovery signal from a second network entity that contains less information than a synchronization signal block (SSB) for use in a cell access procedure. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on one or more conditions associated with the discovery signal being satisfied, a trigger signal to the ES-mode second network entity to transmit a SSB for use in the cell access procedure. The UE may monitor for the SSB based at least in part on the trigger signal, and perform the cell access procedure based at least in part on the SSB.
