    Abstract: A configuration to enable a UE to determine a slot direction for communication with a base station while operating in half duplex FDD with carrier aggregation. The apparatus receives a first indication of a slot pattern for a plurality of slots associated with at least one component carrier assigned to the UE, wherein the first indication indicates that each of the plurality of slots is one of an uplink slot, a downlink slot, a special slot, or a flexible slot, and the plurality of slots includes a flexible slot. The apparatus receives, from the base station, a second indication indicating whether the flexible slot is the uplink slot or the downlink slot. The apparatus communicates with a base station based on at least one of the first indication or the second indication.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a reference signal or channel conveying a paging indicator. The UE may determine, based on the paging indicator, whether to monitor a paging control channel including a scheduling grant for a paging shared channel communication. The UE may estimate time or frequency information for receiving the paging control channel based at least in part on a result of the determining, and receiving the paging control channel containing based at least in part on the result of the determining and the estimated time or frequency information, or skipping monitoring the paging control channel based at least in part on the result of the determining.     Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for beam management for make-before-break (MBB) handover. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes establishing a first cell connection with a first base station (BS) while maintaining an existing second cell connection with a second BS, and determining that a first transmission time of a first signal transmitted by the first BS is less than a threshold time duration from a second transmission time of a second signal transmitted by the second BS. In some examples, the first signal is associated with one or more first communication metrics and the second signal is associated with one or more second communication metrics, wherein each of the one or more first communication metrics and the one or more second communication metrics comprise one or more quality of service (QoS) metrics.

    Abstract: A UE may be operating in a wireless communication network having a UE-centric medium access control layer, and the UE may detect presence of a trigger event to signal a base station of the wireless communication network. The UE may identify one of a plurality of functionalities corresponding to the trigger event, and may generate a chirp signal that includes chirp purpose indicator and a chirp message, wherein the chirp purpose indicator and a format of the chirp message correspond to the identified one of the plurality of functionalities. Accordingly, the UE may transmit the chirp signal having the chirp purpose indicator to the base station, which may provide a chirp response message that includes message contents that relate to the chirp purpose indicator.
