    Abstract: A gestural control dimmer switch for controlling the illumination level of a light using hand movements includes a dimmer panel having a continuum of positions associated with a spectrum of illumination levels of the light. Hand position sensors produce a hand position detection field in front of the continuum of positions of the dimmer panel through which a hand can be passed. No dimming input is produced by a hand passing through the hand position detection field until the hand passing through the detection field reaches a set trigger position at one of the continuum of positions along the dimmer panel. A dimming input is only produced in response to changes in hand position in the hand position detection field after the hand reaches the trigger position. A new trigger position is set after the illumination level of the light controlled by the dimmer switch is adjusted.

    Abstract: A towable stream gauge platform having an asymmetrical elastic harness comprises a buoyant flexible platform and a harness including a shock cord having first and second lengths interconnected at a loop, both lengths passing slidably through a plurality of retaining rings flexibly attached to pad eyes embedded in the top surface of the platform, a leading end of said first length extending forward of said retaining rings on one side of the platform and the loop extending forward of said retaining rings on the other side of the platform, a terminal end of the second length secured to the top surface of the platform, one end of a pull cord attached to the loop and the other end of the pull cord attached to the leading end, such that the pull cord encounters greater resistance from the loop than from the lead end when under tension.

    Abstract: A brush care system for cleaning and drying brushes used in cosmetic or fine art painting applications comprises a washing vessel and a drying vessel. The washing vessel includes a cleaner having a cleaning surface against which the bristles of a brush can be agitated for cleaning.
