Abstract: Aspects of disclosure relate to a network node for changing a physical cell identifier (PCI). The network node transmits a first signal based on a first PCI during a first synchronization signal block (SSB) occasion, transmits a second signal based on the first PCI during a second SSB occasion, and transitions from the first PCI to a second PCI. During a transition period, the network node transmits the first signal based on the second PCI during the first SSB occasion, and continues to transmit the second signal based on the first PCI during the second SSB occasion. After an end of the transition period, the network node continues to transmit the first signal based on the second PCI during the first SSB occasion, and ceases transmission of the second signal based on the first PCI during the second SSB occasion. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for leveraging a resource management protocol under an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) framework for power savings. In some aspects, a first node (such as an IAB node) may receive resource management information from a second node (such as an IAB donor). The resource management information may indicate an unavailable type of resource management configuration for the first resource associated with the first node. The first node may schedule a power save mode during the first resource having the unavailable type of resource management configuration for power savings. The first resource may be a time domain resource, a frequency domain resource, or a spatial domain resource. In some aspects, the first node may restrict both non-exempt and exempt communications during the first resource when the first node is in the power save mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for interference coordination between wireless nodes (e.g., nodes of an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network). The techniques generally include determining, by a first wireless node, resources for sending an indication of interference coordination to a second wireless node, and sending the indication to the second wireless node using the determined resources, as part of an interference coordination procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay device operating in an unlicensed radio frequency (RF) spectrum band may receive a channel occupancy time (COT) indication from a first wireless device via a control message, a preamble sequence, or an on-off energy pattern, among other examples. Upon receiving the COT indication from the first wireless device, the relay device may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure. If the LBT procedure is successful, the relay device may relay signals between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. Otherwise, the relay device may refrain from relaying signals between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. The described techniques may enable the relay device to operate with greater efficiency and reduced power consumption. The described techniques may also improve the reliability of communications between the first wireless device and the second wireless device.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node in a wireless multi-hop network may determine a change in multiplexing capability relating to communications on one or more radio link control (RLC) channels, and transmit information to a central unit that enables the central unit to cause modification of at least one of routing or RLC channel mapping in the wireless multi-hop network based at least in part on the change in multiplexing capability. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless node may receive a first indication of an energy-saving configuration for traffic routing associated with a traffic path between the first wireless node and a second wireless node. The first wireless node may transmit a second indication of the energy-saving configuration for traffic routing to the second wireless node. The first wireless node may communicate, with the second wireless node on the traffic path, in accordance with the energy-saving configuration. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques switching a communication link for wireless systems with multiple parents, such as an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network or other type of network. In some cases, a node determines a partition of a number of desired guard symbols between a first parent node and a second parent node; sends, to the first parent node and to the second parent node, at least one indication of a partitioned number of the desired guard symbols for switching between the first parent node and the second parent node; receives at least one indication of a number of provided guard symbols from the first and second parent nodes; and switches a communication link from the first parent node to the second parent node in accordance with the at least one indication of provided guard symbols by the first parent node and the second parent node.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node may receive an indication of a plurality of sets of reference signal identifiers, wherein each set of reference signal identifiers of the plurality of sets of reference signal identifiers identifies reference signals of candidate neighbor nodes associated with the set, and wherein each candidate neighbor node associated with the set is in a same operating mode, and transmit a measurement report based at least in part on measuring one or more reference signals identified in the plurality of sets of reference signal identifiers. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node of a wireless backhaul communications network may receive, from a central unit node, a configuration indicating that network coding is activated for a packet flow. In some cases, the IAB node may receive, from a second access node, a first packet of the packet flow via a first wireless link and transmit, via a second wireless link, a first encoded packet that is generated based on network encoding the first packet. In some cases, the IAB node may receive, from one or more access nodes, a set of encoded packets of the packet flow, and the IAB node may transmit a feedback message, via a second wireless link, indicating that network decoding of the set of encoded packets to recover a plurality of packets is successful or unsuccessful.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some networks, such as over-deployed integrated access and backhaul (IAB) networks operating in millimeter wave (mmW) bands, may experience high energy consumption if all nodes in the network are fully active at all times. Power utilization modes may mitigate energy consumption by allowing nodes to operate at varying levels of activity. A power utilization mode may include a fully active mode or may drop one or more functions that a fully active node may support, or may support less extensive configurations associated with one or more supported functions, as compared to the configurations associated with a fully active node. Nodes may request information regarding one or more nodes, request a change in power utilizations modes for itself, indicate another node should change modes, or may receive an indication to change modes.
