Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may identify a first synchronization sequence and generate a second synchronization sequence based at least in part on the first synchronization sequence. The base station may map the first synchronization sequence to a first resource block of a synchronization channel associated with a first frequency sub-band of a shared radio frequency spectrum band and the second synchronization sequence to a second resource block associated with a second frequency sub-band of the synchronization channel. The base station may then transmit the first synchronization sequence and the second synchronization sequence concurrently over the synchronization channel using the first resource block and the second resource block according to the mapping. In some cases, the second synchronization may be generated by applying a first phase shift to the first synchronization sequence.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless node may transmit directional signals in a sweeping transmission pattern while receiving communications from a second wireless node. Another wireless node may then, during a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, receive one of the directional signals, and terminate a correspondence communication session to avoid potential interference. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless node may listen in directions in a sweeping receive pattern while transmitting to a second wireless node. While listening, the wireless node may detect a transmission from a third wireless node in a particular direction. The wireless node may then accordingly refrain from transmitting in that direction to avoid potential interference.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to synchronization signaling supporting multiple waveforms. A synchronization signal block (SSB) is configurable for transmission using either at least a first waveform or a second waveform, where the first waveform has higher peak to average power ratio (PAPR) characteristics such as OFDM and the second waveform has lower PAPR characteristics, such as DFT-S-OFDM. The SSB is transmitted selectively using either the first waveform or the second waveform for transmission of the SSB. Furthermore, the characteristics of the transmission such as a predetermined pattern of the first and second waveform transmissions may be utilized to communicate to a receiver the type of waveform being used. In this manner, SSB transmissions may take advantage of respective advantages afforded by each type of waveform, particularly when using higher frequency transmissions above 40 GHz in wireless communication systems.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to sharing a spectrum using node-specific medium reservation signals are provided. The first reservation information indicates an interference tolerance level of the first wireless communication device. The first reservation information indicates a reserved duration within the TXOP.

Abstract: Techniques for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions are provided that allow for efficient use of shared radio frequency spectrum band resources. A user equipment (UE) may determine a duration of an AUL transmission and modify an uplink waveform or provide an indication to a base station of one or more channel resources that may be available for base station transmissions, in order to more fully utilize shared radio frequency spectrum band resources within a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT). A base station may activate or deactivate AUL transmissions through downlink control information (DCI) transmitted to the UE. A UE and base station may exchange various other control information to provide relatively efficient autonomous uplink transmissions and use of the shared radio frequency spectrum band resources.

A transmitting wireless device may select a direction for a wireless transmission over a channel The transmitting wireless device may monitor an availability of the channel in the selected direction for a duration of a first channel listening time corresponding to the selected direction. The transmitting wireless device may determine that the channel is available in the selected direction based on either an absence of channel reservation messages during the monitoring, or a first channel reservation message received during the monitoring. The first channel reservation message may indicate a permissibility of a simultaneous transmission in the selected direction. The transmitting wireless device may transmit a second channel reservation message to a receiving wireless device over the channel in the selected direction based on the determination that the channel is available in the selected direction.

Abstract: Positioning techniques for wireless communications devices using shared radio frequency spectrum are provided that may enhance positioning determination for devices operating using shared radio frequency spectrum. Various disclosed techniques provide for identifying determining one or more parameters for a positioning procedure for a UE based on characteristics of shared radio frequency spectrum transmissions. Such parameters may include, for example, frequency information for positioning transmissions or frequency hopping patterns. In some cases, a base station may transmit multiple positioning transmissions that have different coverage levels. In some cases, a UE may transmit an uplink positioning signal that may be received by multiple base stations and used for UE position determination. In some cases, a UE may be configured to monitor for a positioning transmissions on a dedicated frequency, and report measurements associated with the positioning transmissions using a shared frequency.
