摘要: A method for continuously manufacturing aerosol generating articles includes: (i) providing a continuous web or a continuous strip of an aerosol generating substrate; (ii) providing a continuous web of susceptor material; (iii) continuously cutting the continuous web of susceptor material to form a plurality of susceptor patches; (iv) consecutively applying the patches to a surface of the continuous web or continuous strip of aerosol generating substrate with a predefined and constant spacing between each successive patch; and forming the web or strip of aerosol generating substrate and the patches into a continuous rod. Step (iii) uses a rotary cutting unit including a support drum supporting the continuous web of susceptor material around its periphery and a cutting drum having a plurality of circumferentially spaced cutting elements around its periphery. The cutting elements cooperate with the support drum to shear cut the continuous web of susceptor material to form the patches.

摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing a consumable for an aerosol provision system. The apparatus includes a feeding apparatus for receiving and supplying a sheet of aerosol-generating material along a conveyance path, and a sensor configured to detect information indicative of defects in the sheet as the sheet passes along the conveyance path. The apparatus can include a consumable forming apparatus configured to receive the sheet of aerosol-generating material and form the sheet into a consumable, and a controller configured to determine the presence of a defect in the sheet based on the information detected by the sensor. A consumable for an aerosol provision system can be manufactured by the apparatus and/or method disclosed herein. Additionally, an apparatus, method and controller for analyzing a sheet of aerosol-generating material for an aerosol provision system consumable and a system for manufacturing a consumable for an aerosol provision system.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods (100). The method comprises the steps of supplying a continuous susceptor profile (20) to a continuous rod-forming process such as to enter and pass the rod-forming process along a center axis (80) of the rod-forming process, supplying a continuous substrate web (30) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate to the continuous rod-forming process such as to enter the rod-forming process laterally to the susceptor profile and passing the substrate web and the susceptor profile through the rod-forming process, thereby gathering the substrate web into a rod shape around the susceptor profile substantially coaxially to the center axis. The invention further relates to an apparatus (1) for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods (100). The apparatus comprises a rod-forming device (10) configured for gathering a continuous substrate web (30) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate into a rod shape around a continuous susceptor profile (20) coaxially to a center axis (80) of the rod-forming device as the substrate web and the susceptor profile pass through the rod-forming device. The apparatus further comprises a susceptor supply (21) configured for supplying the susceptor profile to the rod-forming device such as to enter and pass the rod-forming device along the center axis of the rod-forming device. The apparatus also comprises a substrate supply (35) configured for supplying the substrate web to the rod-forming device such as to enter the rod-forming device laterally to the susceptor profile.
