摘要: An electric machine controller is described that is arranged to direct a power converter to cause pulsed operation of the electric machine in selected operational ranges to deliver a desired output. The pulsed operation of the electric machine causes the output of the electric machine to alternate between a first torque level, a second torque level, and an intermediate torque level range providing a shaped pulse pattern. The second torque level is lower than the first torque level and the intermediate torque level range is between the first torque level and the second torque level. The first torque level, second torque level, intermediate torque level range, and shaped pulse pattern are selected to provide a third torque level output such that the system has a higher energy conversion efficiency during the pulsed operation of the electric machine than the system would have when operated at a third torque level that would be required to drive the electric machine in a continuous manner to deliver the third torque level output, wherein the intermediate torque level range is a range of less than 5 Nm and wherein the intermediate torque level range is provided for at least 1 millisecond.

摘要: A first electric machine is controlled by a first pulse-width modulated control signal output by a first inverter and having a first signal parameter, and a second electric machine is controlled by means of a second pulse-width modulated control signal output by a second inverter and having a second signal parameter. The first signal parameter is output from the first inverter to the second inverter via a separate synchronization line. A third pulse-width modulated control signal having a third signal parameter is modulated by the second inverter. The third signal parameter is determined based on the first signal parameter and a predeterminable synchronization parameter. The third pulse-width modulated control signal having the third signal parameter is output by the second inverter to the second electric machine. The first pulse-width modulated control signal and the third pulse-width modulated control signal have a phase relationship predeterminable by the predeterminable synchronization parameter.

摘要: A power conversion device includes an inverter, a current detector, a frequency analysis processor, a storage, a determination unit, a reference rotational rate change unit, and a rate controller. The determination unit determines a frequency at which a signal component having a magnitude exceeding a prescribed value has been detected among frequency components of a load current, generates restriction information for excluding a reference rotational rate for a rotational rate corresponding to the detected frequency based on a determination result after the determination, and causes the storage to store the generated restriction information. The reference rotational rate change unit changes a reference rotational rate of an electric motor so that mechanical resonance of the detected frequency is avoided based on the stored restriction information. The rate controller controls a rotational rate of the inverter using the changed reference rotational rate. The electric motor is driven at the controlled rotational rate.

摘要: A system includes an electronic power converter and a controller. The electronic power converter supplies power to one or more motor drives of an HVAC system. The controller obtains a plurality of pulse width modulation (PWM) algorithms. Each PWM algorithm has an associated spectrum of frequencies. The controller further determines one or more resonance frequencies associated with the HVAC system. The controller also selects a first PWM algorithm from the plurality of PWM algorithms wherein the spectrum of frequencies of the first PWM algorithm lacks frequency peaks that overlap with the one or more resonance frequencies associated with the HVAC system. The controller further operates the electronic power converter according to the first PWM algorithm.

摘要: A method is provided for operating a multi-phase inverter connected to an electric machine using a control device, wherein the inverter comprises a plurality of switch devices and the control device controls the inverter to adjust a control variable by means of space vector modulation. The method includes providing a number of possible space vectors for representing the control variable according to a number of phases of the inverter. The method further includes assigning each possible space vector a disturbance variable in the electric machine occurring in a switching state of the switch devices of the inverter described by the respective space vector. The method further includes selecting one or more control space vectors according to the control variable from the number of possible space vectors for representing the control variable. The selected one or more control space vectors represent control variable and have the respective smallest associated disturbance variable of the possible space vectors.

The three-phase converter employs a first PWM strategy to supply current to the DC bus, and the converter employs a second PWM strategy to supply current to the DC bus if a total current in the three phase legs exceeds a selected threshold.
