Abstract:
The present invention provides a substrate support member of an FPD manufacturing apparatus comprising: a substrate support plate on which a glass substrate is horizontally put, the substrate support plate having a plurality of vertical through-holes, each of the vertical though-holes having an upper distal portion of a shape of a reverse cone; and a plurality of lift pins being inserted into the respective vertical though-holes, the lift pins 32 being moved up and down so that the substrate 40 is raised from the substrate support plate 36 or put down on the substrate support plate 36, each of the lift pins having an upper distal portion of a shape of a reverse cone to comply with the upper distal portion of the corresponding vertical through-hole. According to the present invention, since the lift pins has a shape of a reverse cone, not a stick, to be closely contacted to the substrate support plate 36, the temperatures and the potentials are equal between the substrate support plate 36 and the each of the lift pins 32. Therefore, it is advantageous that any specks are not generated on the substrate 40, and film-formation and etching can be uniformly made.
Abstract:
A mechanism for loading lamp caps into the cells of an endless chain conveyor (the mechanism is designed for use in a lamp cap smearing installation). In this mechanism, between a rotor, which carries lamp caps to the cells of the chain conveyor, and a stationary guide arranged to accumulate lamp caps are fitted a spring-loaded retainer and a means for positively moving lamp caps from the stationary guide into the rotor slots. The spring-loaded retainer prevents the lamp caps from leaving the guide and periodically, when a lamp cap is fed into a rotor slot, is positively moved out of the retaining position. This constructional arrangement provides for sure feeding of lamp caps into the conveyor cells practically at any conveyor speed.
Abstract:
An automatic lamp filament-transferring equipment is provided with one shaft having chucks fixed on opposite ends thereof, each having a face oriented at right angles relative to the other, the shaft performing a revolution in a plane containing the shaft and being rotatable about the shaft axis. The equipment, when installed in a conveyor system of an automatic mounting machine, is especially useful for manufacturing a lamp holding a filament mounted in parallel with the lamp axis.
Abstract:
Apparatus for feeding, welding and cutting metallic ribbon which is extremely thin. The ribbon is advanced by automatic means so that a portion thereof is nested within a slot which forms one electrode of a welding device. The welding operation is performed and then the ribbon is cut to length, the welded parts are then removed and the cycle is repeated. The means for accurately advancing the ribbon comprises a pair of rotatably mounted metallic rollers aligned along a common axis. At least one of the roller assemblies is comprised of first and second concentrically mounted rollers spaced by resilient means. The true centers of the rollers are displaced by a predetermined amount so as to provide constant tension for the feeding operation even in the case where the rollers deviate from true round which may be caused by wearing as a result of continued use.
