Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus, to determine a DRX cycle. The method includes: receiving data in an active time of a current DRX cycle; when a DRX inactivity timer of the current DRX cycle expires, determining a type of a next DRX cycle depending on whether at least some data received in the active time is associated with a DRX short cycle, where if the at least some data is not associated with a DRX short cycle, the next DRX cycle is a DRX long cycle, or the type of the next DRX cycle is the same as that of a DRX cycle previous to the current DRX cycle. When the DRX inactivity timer expires, the type of the next DRX cycle can be more flexibly determined, and may not necessarily be a DRX short cycle. This can save power of a device to some extent.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a data transmission method, where the method includes: receiving, by user equipment, first information from a radio access device, where the first information indicates different transmission classes corresponding to a plurality of logical channels; determining, by the user equipment based on the first information, a transmission format of uplink data on at least one logical channel corresponding to at least one transmission class in the different transmission classes, and determining a transmission resource in the transmission format; and sending, by the user equipment, the uplink data by using the transmission format and the transmission resource in the transmission format. In this application, different transmission resources are allocated to uplink data on logical channels LCHs of different transmission classes, so that different requirements of different uplink data can be met.

Abstract: A reference time determining method and apparatus are provided, to prevent aberrations in a control instruction execution time caused by inconsistency between a reference time of a terminal and a reference time of a control device in the conventional technology. In this application, the terminal may receive a plurality of pieces of time reference information sent by the network device. When the terminal receives indication information from the network device, the terminal may select, based on the indication information, one piece of time reference information from the plurality of pieces of time reference information as first time reference information. The indication information indicates the first time reference information. After determining the first time reference information, the terminal may determine the reference time of the terminal based on the first time reference information.
