摘要： A developing apparatus includes a housing, a developing roller, a supply roller, and a thickness regulating member. The housing is configured to accommodate developer that includes developer particles having a mean volume diameter. The developing roller is rotatably supported in the housing and has a peripheral surface configured to carry the developer. The supply roller is rotatably supported in the housing, contacts the developing roller, and configured to supply the toner to the developing roller. The thickness regulating member includes a contact member contacting the peripheral surface. The contact member is configured to regulate a thickness of the developer on the peripheral surface such that an average of the thickness of the developer on the peripheral surface becomes smaller than or equal to the mean volume diameter.

摘要： A developing device includes a seal member adhered to a frame along an axial direction of a developing roller. The seal member seals between the frame and an outer peripheral surface of the developing roller. The frame has a seal supporting surface extending along the axial direction, on which the seal member is supported in a cantilevered fashion. The seal member includes a sheet-like member and an elastic adhesive member. One end portion of the sheet-like member is fixed to the seal supporting surface through the elastic adhesive member, and the other end portion is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the developing roller. The elastic adhesive member has a first surface adhered to the sheet-like member and a second surface adhered to the seal supporting surface, and at least one slit is formed along the axial direction from the second surface toward the first surface.

摘要： This is an auger shaft seal used in an electrophotographic marking system. The seal is made up of alternating raised and depressed pie-shaped sections, each having edges that force developer away from auger bearings. The seal of this invention can be used on bi-directional augers and will protect the bearing when the auger moves in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. The seal is used with a magnetic seal to add additional protection for the bearings.

The air duct is an unitary structure including an elongated hollow body and a pair of nozzles in fluid communication with the hollow body. One of the nozzles is disposed at a distal end of the developer roll near one J-seal, and the other of the nozzles is disposed at a proximal end of the developer roll near the second J-seal.
