    Abstract: A method and system include a symbol processing block to generate log likelihood ratios (LLRs) associated with one or more data symbols. The method and system include a channel estimation (CE) module to receive the LLRs from the symbol processing block, and to process iterative CE (ItCE) for new radio (NR) based at least on reference signals and the LLRs. The CE module can process the ItCE with a granularity of one or more resource blocks (RBs) based at least on pilot resource elements (REs) and virtual pilot REs obtained from the LLRs. The CE module can process the ItCE based at least on a frequency domain orthogonal cover codes (FD-OCC) structure of the reference signals. The reference signals can be demodulation reference signals (DMRS) configured in 5G NR. The CE module can process the ItCE by updating a CE result by adding a quantity that represents a contribution obtained from virtual pilot REs.

    Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for accessing a wireless medium for a NR-U deployed at 60 GHz. A directional CCA sensing is performed on a set of multiple beams in the medium in which each beam is oriented in a different direction. It is determined whether at least one beam of is busy and, if so, a back-off timer is initialized. The back-off timer is decreased by a predetermined amount based on a determination that all beams of the set of multiple beams are idle. The back-off timer is repeatedly decreased the predetermined amount based on a determination that all beams of the set of multiple beams are idle until the back-off timer equals a predetermined amount. Data is transmitted at least one beam of the set of multiple beams based on the back-off timer equaling the predetermined amount.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided in which a UE reports capability information indicating a first set of pairs and a second set of tuples. Each pair indicates serving cells configured for per-slot and per-span monitoring. Each tuple indicates serving cells configured for per-slot and per-span monitoring in an MCG and an SCG. A first pair of values for the MCG and a second pair of values for the SCG are received. A first value in each pair is a maximum number of serving cells configured for per-slot monitoring, and a second value in each pair is a maximum number of serving cells configured for per-span monitoring. A monitored candidate limit per slot is determined for the MCG and the SCG based on the first value. A monitored candidate limit per span is determined for the MCG and the SCG based on the second value.

    Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for PDCCH monitoring in carrier aggregation with multiple serving cells.
