Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for partitioning received data for use in a data stream. Data is received during a period of time at a device, such as a data partitioner. The device a) determines that a first subset of the data is for a first system component, b) a second subset of the data is for a second system component, and c) a third subset of the data is for the first system component. Also, determines that a first stream partition is mapped to the first system component and a second stream partition is mapped to the second system component. Based on these determinations, the device assigns the first and third subsets of the data to the first stream partition and the second subset of the data to the second stream partition. Thereafter, the device transmits a stream that includes the first stream partition and the second stream partition.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for rotating network addresses following the installation of a prefab region network at a destination site. A manager service executing within a distributed computing system can allocate a rotation network address pool to a root allocator service that may be configured to provide network addresses from network address pools to dependent nodes within the distributed computing system, with each dependent node associated with a corresponding first network address of the network address pools. The manager service can receive an indication that a second network address of the rotation network address pool is associated with a dependent node. In response, the manager service can execute and a migration operation for the dependent node to redirect network traffic within the distributed computing system from the first network address to the second network address.

Abstract: Techniques for enforcing an egress policy at a target service are described. In an example, traffic is generated for a customer, where the traffic is generated by a customer network of the customer, such as a customer tenancy or an on-premise network, or by a multi-tenancy service on behalf of the customer. The traffic can be destined to the target service. The traffic can be tagged by the customer network (e.g., by a gateway of the customer network) or by the multi-tenancy service. The customer network can be associated with the egress policy. The target service can determine the egress policy based on the information tagged to the traffic and can enforce the egress policy on the traffic that the target service is receiving.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a composite score for data quality are disclosed. Univariate analysis is performed on a plurality of data points corresponding to each of a first feature, a second feature, and a third feature of a data set. The univariate analysis includes at least a first type of analysis generating a first score having a first range of possible values, and a second type of analysis generating a second score having a second range of possible values. A first quality score is computed for the data values for the first, second, and third features based on a normalized first score and a normalized second score. Machine learning is performed on the data points corresponding to one or both of the first feature and the second feature having a first quality score above a threshold value to model the third feature.

The method can include sending a communication from a first virtual machine (“VM”) instantiated on a first host machine to a first network virtualization Top of Rack (“ToR”) switch. The first network virtualization ToR can include a peripheral component interconnect express (“PCIe”) switch coupled to a plurality of host-side Ethernet ports, a virtualization device communicatingly coupled to the PCIe switch, which virtualization device can include a plurality of virtualization functions, and a switching ASIC coupled to the virtualization device and to a network-side Ethernet port. The method can include forming the communication into an Internet Protocol (“IP”) packet with a first virtualization function of the virtualization device, and sending the IP packet to a second VM with the switching ASIC.

Abstract: Techniques for dynamically developing a contextual set of prompts based on relevant aspects extracted from s set of training data. One technique includes obtaining training data comprising text examples and associated labels, extracting aspects from the training data, generating prompting templates based on the training data and the extracted aspects, concatenating each of the text examples with the respective generated prompting template to create prompting functions, training a machine learning language model on the prompting functions to predict a solution for a task, where the training is formulated as a masked language modeling problem with blanks of the prompting templates being set as text labels and expected output for the task being set as specified solution labels, and the training learns or updates model parameters of the machine learning language model for performing the task. The machine learning language model is provided with the learned or updated model parameters.

Abstract: Techniques for restricting plug-in application recipes (“PIARs”) are disclosed. A PIAR management application receives a PIAR restriction via an authenticated user of the PIAR management application. The PIAR restriction is applicable to certain users of the PIAR management application. The PIAR restriction identifies functionality of the PIAR management application that would otherwise be available to a user of the PIAR management application if the user had an active account for a particular plug-in application that, once linked to that user in the PIAR management application and associated with a particular PIAR, would be capable of supplying at least part of the functionality. The PIAR management application stores the PIAR restriction, including information to block the restricted functionality. Based on the PIAR restriction, the PIAR management application blocks the restricted functionality. Many different types of functionality may be restricted, in various ways.

Abstract: A graph processing system is provided for executing scouting queries for improving query planning. A query planner creates a plurality of scouting queries, each scouting query in the plurality of scouting queries corresponding to a query plan for a graph query and having an associated confidence value. A graph processing system performs limited execution of the plurality of scouting queries and determines a metric value for each scouting query in the plurality of scouting queries based on execution of the scouting query. The system determines a score for each scouting query in the plurality of scouting queries based on its metric value and the confidence value of the corresponding query plan and selects a query plan based on the scores of the plurality of scouting queries. The system executes the graph query based on the selected query plan.

Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to systems and methods of data storage, and more particularly to providing layering of file system functionality on an object interface. In certain embodiments, file system functionality may be layered on cloud object interfaces to provide cloud-based storage while allowing for functionality expected from a legacy applications. For instance, POSIX interfaces and semantics may be layered on cloud-based storage, while providing access to data in a manner consistent with file-based access with data organization in name hierarchies. Various embodiments also may provide for memory mapping of data so that memory map changes are reflected in persistent storage while ensuring consistency between memory map changes and writes. For example, by transforming a ZFS file system disk-based storage into ZFS cloud-based storage, the ZFS file system gains the elastic nature of cloud storage.
