摘要: A circuit for controlling an automatic ice making system of a refrigeration apparatus. The device includes an electrical circuit which operates the ice making machine using a light interrupter system. A plused light source is placed such that it will be interfered when the ice has reached a predetermined level in the ice containing bin. The circuit uses operational amplifier signal processing components which activate the ice making machine once the light source is sensed for a predetermined period of time and deactivates the ice maker when the light source is not sensed for another predetermined period of time. The circuit also includes means for eliminating the effect of ambient lights.

摘要: A fixed fluid control system for loading fluids into sealed tanks includes pressure sensing conduits in a mobile vehicle and fixed fluid controls. In the vehicle are first and second pressure sensing conduits having portions within the sealed tank positioned at the top and bottom of the tank. The pressure sensing conduits have exterior portions to which are detachably coupled additional pressure sense lines. The additional pressure sensing conduits are coupled to a differential pressure to current converter within the fixed fluid control system. The converter produces a current signal proportional to the pressure difference between the two sense lines. When this current reaches a predetermined high level, the supply of fluid to the sealed tank is discontinued.

摘要: A highly reliable bilge pump control system which distinguishes between oil and water and operates without a mechanical float switch. It uses a conductivity type probe of special construction which is unaffected by sludge and contamination at the oil-water interface. Multiple probes at varying depths feed high impedance operational amplifiers which operate a conventional pump through digital circuitry which assures that no oil is pumped from the bilge.

摘要: Apparatus for monitoring supply of electrically conductive writing fluid in a reservoir for an ink printing device which has three electrodes with one pair of the electrodes mounted in a region of the reservoir which is constantly moistened by the writing fluid and provides a first signal which produces a fluid comparison resistance. An additional electrode together with one of the pair of electrodes produces a signal which indicates the change of resistance as a function of the fluid level of the fluid. A control electronics component receives the first and second signals and supplies an output to a shutoff device. A generator and an inverter which receives an input from the generator supply pulses to two of the electrodes.

摘要: A liquid level sensor and controlling assembly disposed and mounted in direct communication with a reservoir of liquid to be monitored and including a float structure connected to an elongated stem formed of magnetic material which is disposed to selectively move, in accordance with the movement of the upper surface level of the liquid between a primary coil and a secondary coil. A constant voltage supplied to the primary coil results in a magnetic flux and a voltage being induced into the secondary coil based upon position of the magnetic material stem relative to the secondary coil thereby determining that the induced voltage in the secondary coil is directly related to the level of the liquid since the position of the magnetic stem within the secondary coil is controlled by the level of liquid within the reservoir. A control circuit or electrical facility could be activated or controlled by the induced voltage which in turn could operate a supplementary device such as a liquid fill valve in order to fill the reservoir with additional liquid when needed.

摘要: Apparatus is provided for controlling the level of steam condensate in a steam retort wherein sealed cans of food are exposed to incoming steam. The apparatus comprises a pneumatically actuated condensate drain valve which is controlled by a solenoid valve and opens to drain condensate if it reaches a dangerously high level, an alarm to indicate when the high level is reached, a recorder to provide a continuous permanent record of condensate level and drain valve status, and an electric control system for sensing condensate level and operating the solenoid valve, the alarm and the recorder in accordance therewith. The electric control system includes a condensate level sensor in the form of a one or more float-operated magnetically-responsive reed switches mounted in the retort. The sensor comprises a hollow stem in which a reed switch is potted in elastomeric non-displaceable material. In one embodiment the control system employs two reed switches and two relays and the drain valve opens when the condensate reaches an upper level and closes when it reaches a lower level. In another embodiment the control system employs one reed switch and a time-delay relay to prevent the drain valve from opening unless the condensate level remains high for a certain length of time. The apparatus is fail-safe in that the drain valve opens if its pneumatic or electric power supplies fail. A thermocouple may be mounted in the sensor to provide temperature indications to the recorder.

摘要: An automatic feedback controller for maintaining water level in a dam initially compares target and sensed water levels to derive a deviation value. Simultaneously, a first dead zone having a relatively wide width contiguous to the target level is set. The first set dead zone is compared with the deviation value to open and close a dam gate such that the deviation value becomes smaller than the first dead zone width. When a predetermined time has elapsed, a second dead zone having a width narrower than that of the first dead zone is set. The second dead zone is then compared with the deviation value to open or close the gate such that the deviation value becomes smaller than the second dead zone width.

摘要: An apparatus and method which control the supply of a product to a pooling unit. A sensor is provided for sensing whether the product has been supplied to a preset level of the pooling unit. The method comprises sensing whether the product has been supplied to the preset level of the pooling unit. A first time period is measured until the preset level is attained once supply of the product has begun. A second time period is calculated and measured based on the first time period, during which the product continues to be supplied to the pooling unit. The supply of the product to the pooling unit is then halted in response to expiration of the second time period. Control is effected such that the overall amount of the product supplied is substantially constant irrespective of any variation in the amount of the product supplied to the pooling unit per unit time.

摘要: A stepper for use between a transducer subjected to variable pressure, heat or liquid level for converting the continuous output signal of the transducer with all of its variations, both of significant magnitude and those of insignificant importance, into a continuous stepped output signal that increases or decreases the current to a transducer responsive control unit, particularly a servo amplifier, which stepped signal eliminates all minor and unimportant fluctuations from the output current from the transducer. The stepper also includes a sequence of voltage regulators such as potentiometers in the circuits between the stepper and the servo amplifier by means of which the magnitude of the current flow of each step to the servo amplifier may be adjusted or programmed with respect to one another. It is particularly useful in the regulation of flow control valves in water distribution and sewage disposal systems, but its application to steam boilers is also disclosed and described.
