Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, by the UE, a first transmission on a beam over a radio frequency spectrum during a first time interval. The first transmission includes an indication of a subsequent physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission on the beam. The indication includes information about a PDCCH in a second time interval subsequent to the first time interval. The method also includes configuring a power saving state of the UE based at least in part on the indication. A method for wireless communication at a network access device includes transmitting the first transmission to at least one UE, and transmitting the PDCCH during the second time interval.

Abstract: In order to provide a more robust RLM procedure for 5G/NR, a base station may provide a dynamic relationship between a PDCCH and another reference signal (e.g., SS/CSI-RS) to a UE. For example, an apparatus may receive an adjustment parameter regarding a PDCCH from a base station. The adjustment parameter may comprise a relationship between the PDCCH and the at least one of the SS or the CSI-RS for deriving a radio link quality of a hypothetical PDCCH. The apparatus may receive an SS/CSI-RS that is QCL with the PDCCH and perform a radio link measurement based on the received at least one of the SS or the CSI-RS using the adjustment parameter regarding the PDCCH. Among other relationships/offsets, the adjustment parameter may indicate a TPR difference, a beamforming gain difference, a beam width difference, a beam orientation difference.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for multibeam PDCCH monitoring during CDRX operations. A BS may determine a configuration of one or more beams for a UE to monitor for receiving a downlink control channel from the BS, wherein the configuration is based, at least in part, on a monitoring window since the subframe in which the downlink control channel (e.g., PDCCH), indicates an initial UL, DL, or SL use data transmission for the UE. The BS may transmit, to the UE, an indication of the configuration. A UE may perform corresponding operations and may monitor one or more beams based on the received configuration.

The UE may establish a connection with a base station using a first transmission beam, receive configuration information configuring the UE to select between a first decoding hypothesis corresponding to downlink control information (DCI) including a bit field including a beam switch command and a second decoding hypothesis corresponding to the DCI not including the bit field, receive a downlink control channel transmission via the first transmission beam, decode the downlink control channel transmission in accordance with the configuration information to obtain decoded DCI, and communicate with the base station based at least in part on the decoded DCI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described techniques provide for the identification of a sequence of beamforming parameters that are used for communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station using a sequence of transmission beams. A UE may measure received reference signals that are transmitted in a series of downlink transmission beams from a base station, and report measurement parameters associated with the downlink transmission beams to the base station as part of a beam tracking and beam refinement procedure. The base station may provide transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states that are associated with each transmission beam. The TCI states may be recorded over a course of a periodic movement of the UE, and may be used deterministically to identify beamforming parameters for transmission and reception of a subsequent series of downlink transmission beams when the UE makes a subsequent same periodic movement.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a UE may measure a first reference signal, associated with a frequency band of a long term evolution (LTE) system, and a second reference signal associated with a frequency band of a new radio (NR) system. The frequency band of the NR system may overlap the frequency band of the LTE system. The UE may determine first channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the LTE system, and second channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the NR system, based at least in part on the first reference signal and the second reference signal, respectively. The UE may report the first channel state feedback or the second channel state feedback in uplink control information (UCI). Other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit a UE-specific beam management parameter to a user equipment (UE) in a connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) OFF state. The UE-specific beam management parameter may indicate a time interval for reception of downlink reference signals (RSs) prior to the beginning of a next C-DRX ON state. The UE may monitor for downlink RSs, and transmit an uplink measurement report during the C-DRX OFF state, which may indicate a reconfigured active beam pair for use during the next C-DRX ON duration. In some cases, the UE may transmit uplink RSs to the base station, and the base station may reconfigure an active beam pair based on the uplink RSs. The UE may monitor for control information (e.g., in a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) during the next C-DRX ON duration, using the reconfigured active beam pair.
