Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may receive, from a second wireless device, a first downlink grant scheduling a first downlink resource for a delay-sensitive packet. The first wireless device may monitor the first downlink resource for the delay-sensitive packet from the second wireless device and identify a first routing identifier indicating at least a third wireless device in the first downlink grant. The first wireless device may transmit, to the third wireless device, a second downlink grant scheduling a second downlink resource and including a second routing identifier based on the first routing identifier. In some cases, the first wireless node may send a scheduling grant to the third wireless device for transmission of a delay-sensitive packet for a next hop before completion of processing of the packet received from the second wireless device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that performs an interference measurement with an enhanced accuracy. The apparatus detects a signal from a serving cell, a neighbor cell, or a second apparatus in the neighbor cell. The apparatus estimates at least one of a downlink-downlink interference and a cross-uplink-downlink interference of the neighbor cell or the second apparatus in the neighbor cell. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided that configures a User Equipment (UE) to perform the interference measurement and receives an interference measurement report from the UE. The apparatus estimates at least one of an uplink-uplink interference and a cross-downlink-uplink interference of the neighbor cell or the second apparatus in the neighbor cell.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are regarding configuring an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node of an IAB network to handle forwarding of packets from another device as well as packets originating in the IAB network at the IAB-node. An example method includes retrieving, by a Backhaul Adaptation Protocol (BAP) layer of the IAB-node, a packet from an upper layer or a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer of the IAB-node. The method also includes determining an egress RLC channel of an egress backhaul (BH) link with a second device for transmitting the first packet based on a first configuration in response to retrieving the first packet from the RLC layer or a second configuration in response to retrieving the first packet from the upper layer. The method also includes transmitting the first packet to the second device via the egress RLC channel of the egress BH.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may experience poor communication with a network access device, and the network access device may configure the UE to connect to, and route communications through, one or more relay nodes (e.g., which may be another UE, a network operator-deployed relay, etc.). Techniques are described whereby these relay nodes may autonomously form a wireless backhaul network. Sequential implementations are considered such that the size of the wireless backhaul network may scale efficiently. In some examples, the wireless backhaul network may form by reusing existing connectivity establishment procedures. Importantly, the proposed techniques enable a relay to possess (e.g., be configured with) functionality that may traditionally be associated with a UE, base station, and gateway. Such multi-faceted functionality may enable the described sequential formation of wireless backhaul networks with tree topology.
