Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration information identifying a slot or sub-slot granularity for transitioning from a non-monitoring state to a monitoring state, wherein the information identifies, for each slot or sub-slot, whether to operate in the non-monitoring state or the monitoring state; and transition from the non-monitoring state, wherein the user equipment (UE) is not performing monitoring, to the monitoring state, wherein the UE is performing monitoring, in accordance with the DRX configuration information. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for securely communicating broadcast information related to cell access within a secure cell. The broadcast information may be encrypted using a cell-specific broadcast key that may be derived from a broadcast root key that is refreshed periodically. A wireless communication device may obtain the broadcast root key via a secure connection with a provisioning server or core network node within a core network maintaining the broadcast root key or a long term key from which the broadcast root key may be derived. The cell-specific broadcast key may be derived using a key derivation function of the broadcast root key and at least cell identifying information associated with the secure cell.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for multi-universal subscriber identification module (USIM) and dual connectivity operation. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes establishing a first access link, associated with a first subscriber identification module (SIM) of the UE, for communicating with a first base station; establishing a second access link, associated with the first SIM of the UE, for communicating with a second base station; establishing a third access link associated with a second SIM of the UE; identifying at least one time division multiplexing (TDM) pattern indicating a set of time periods during which to use the third access link; and tuning to the third access link for communicating using the second SIM during at least one time period of the set of time periods indicated in the TDM pattern.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) or a location server obtains a first location estimate of the UE based on a cellular network-based positioning procedure involving one or more cells, obtains a second location estimate of the UE based on a non-cellular network-based positioning procedure, determines whether or not a difference between the first location estimate and the second location estimate is greater than a distance threshold, and performs a mitigation operation based on the difference being greater than the distance threshold.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for detecting outlier cells based on positioning of a user equipment (UE). In an aspect, the UE or a location server determines a plurality of cells detectable by the UE, calculates a plurality of location estimates for the UE based on positioning measurements of a corresponding plurality of subsets of the plurality of cells, identifies a subset of cells that provides a best location estimate for the UE, wherein the best location estimate maximizes a set of inlier cells, calculates a final location estimate for the UE based on positioning measurements of the subset of cells and the set of inlier cells, identifies any remaining cells of the plurality of cells other than the subset of cells and the set of inlier cells as at least one outlier cell, and performs a mitigation operation based on identifying the at least one outlier cell.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for encrypting paging information transmitted to a user equipment (UE) in a paging message. In one aspect, a base station (BS) encrypts paging information and transmits a paging message to one of a UE or another BS for transmission to the UE. The paging message includes the encrypted paging information. A UE receives the paging message from a BS including the encrypted paging information. The UE decrypts the encrypted paging information to identify paging information, and determines whether to communicate with the BS based on the paging information. The paging information may be encrypted and the encrypted paging information decrypted based on information configured or obtained during at least one of a registration procedure or a radio access network (RAN)-based Notification Area Update (RNAU). Confidentiality of paging information in paging messages may thereby be improved.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling a radio link failure timer in the presence of a conditional handover command. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a serving cell, a conditional handover command for handing over the UE to a target neighbor cell, wherein the conditional handover command includes one or more triggering conditions for executing a handover to a candidate target cell; monitoring one or more first signals from the candidate target cell for the one or more triggering conditions; and performing one of: stopping a timer based on performing a conditional handover to the target candidate cell; or detecting a timer has expired while monitoring the one or more first signals from the candidate target cell for the one or more triggering conditions.

A packet includes the payload for wireless transmission from the first device to the second device via a shared channel.
